    The stanchions that were put up at the crosswalk of Stockdale Road and Great Plain Avenue have all been knocked down and disassembled They are scattered all over the road.

    Large amount of gravel at bend of road in front of 51 Damon Road is dangerous for kids when they come down on their bikes. This is a old consistent problem because the area starting up at the corner of Hollow Ridge down to gravel in road between berm and road is deteriorating. Also water cap in road needs patching.     This raging water coming out of the manhole in our backyard contributed to about 3' of water in ours and our neighbors backyards and subsequently 18" or so of water in our basements flowing in through our basement windows like waterfalls. This problem has persisted for years causing significant damage in 2011, 20123, 2016 and now 2023. There is an engineering flaw in the system uphill from us that must be fixed or we will keep suffering the loss and anguish from these rain events.

    Photos are sequence from exactly 12:00pm to 12:07pm today - Dec 18,2023. Backyards of 40 and 46 Beaufort Ave.

    Photos show how water that overflowed again on Hazelton filled up the backyard of 40 and 46 Beaufort in a matter in minutes.

    Water overwhelmed the foundation in those 7 minutes in such a way that water entered into 46 Beaufort Ave’s finished basement causing damage. Water in yard had to be surface pumped to be removed and reduce more extensive damage.

    This is the 5th occurrence of the overflow as reported to DPW. The same overflew happened and damaged homes in 2011 during Hurricane Irene, 2013, 2016, and August 8, 2023.

    All 3 catch basins near my home were clogged with debris and failed to drain. Three of us from the neighborhood worked to unclog them- standing in water up to my knees. If we had not been home- our house would have flooded as it did on August 8th. We keep these basins clear- checking them every day. Once the rain hits, they simply fill to the brim with tree limbs and leaves and are incapable of draining.

    The walk signal at Great Plain / Highland / Dedham makes pedestrians wait more than 2 full light cycles before they can cross. When I was there this evening, each direction of vehicular cross traffic got two full green lights and pedestrians (who had waited over 5 minutes) were starting to jaywalk. This is a dangerous intersection, and the idea of waiting more than 5 minutes for a pedestrian signal seems even worse given that it's fairly difficult for a pedestrian to cross diagonally unless they're walking briskly. Do we expect elderly pedestrians to wait 10+ minutes to get from the town common to Little Spoon?

    The photo shows where the burn from the street needs to be raised to prevent the runoff from the street from flowing onto the sidewalk and into my yard.  The rain water from the street flows onto the sidewalk through the yard and floods my walkway.
