Mosswood Park

Notified About

  • W Macarthur Blvd & Webster St Oakland, CA, 94609, USA - Mosswood
I am writing to show you that there is considerable garbage and homelessness taking over the sidewalk and entire block at Mosswood park.
They are illegally parked, and have completely taken over the area.
Pedestrians cannot cross on the sidewalk – for almost the entire block! Because they have put so much stuff in the way. It’s filthy and a person would not feel safe walking by.
I have seen a lot of garbage, a lot of alcohol, this should not exist.
I live in the neighborhood and feel ashamed when I try to take my daughter to the park, or if I drive by on Webster. Please remove them! Also because living within 100 feet of a park has been outlawed!

Coming off the off-ramp near Kaiser's children's hospital Disgusting and extremely unhygienic especially considering how many sick children are near it

If the city cannot find alternative space for the encampment dwellers in Mosswood Park, the city needs to do a better job of keeping the area clean. Trash everywhere, piles and piles. There are now not one but two private cars that appear to be permanently parked on the sidewalk behind the amphitheater. The amphitheater is quite literally trashed (see pic). There was a knife fight yesterday that broke out in front of the Kaiser Pediatrics building that overlooks this mess. Reportedly it was encampment dwellers. Literally children witnessing the inability of adults to keep them safe and traumatizing them. Shame on our elected leaders to fail their community so poorly.

How much longer do the citizens of Oakland have to put up with this disaster? The sidewalk is inaccessible, let alone parking. I'd bet that there are hundreds of stolen bicycles/components there too.
    THIS IS A DISGRACE.

I know you receive repeat reports about this troubling area. It is one of the worst cases I have seen recently. Many pedestrians use this underpass, and it feels unsafe to park here, as it attracts vermin. This area needs constant attention. People are just dumping their trash here because it is easy to do. You have got to do better, Oakland, there are many medical facilities right here.

Another glorious day at mosswood park. Camp's garbage even have a portable potty out there to take their dumps. Why is the city so lax on taking care of this issue all over open not just at muscliff park O could it be that the city local is afraid of the aclu?
