North side Fossil Park: dangerous driving on public right-of-way, swerving around recently installed fence, obstructing what was once a designated alley (aka 70th ave N). See related archived issues 4320642 & 4326235

Shrub trimming needed , path on north side of park, in between lake and canal.
People are damaging the mangroves by bending them down to create "bridge" over the canal , allowing for access to private property on N side of canal.
Also using area as "restroom", urinating & defecating in between shrubs , into lake & canal. Trimming back the height & width of shrubs would help greatly to deter this poor & unsanitary behavior. See attached images.

City of St. Petersburg sanitation truck backs onto my property multiple time a week when servicing dumpster at Parkview condos, 800 71st ave n.
- problems caused:
1.) degradation of entry to my drive. Potholes created by said truck at entryway, which caused a fracture to my ankle, which I reported in 2016, .
result:No response ever received from City of St.. Pete.
2.) rude driver. Today, while tending my garden, city sanitation truck honked at me to get out of its way while backing onto my property !
Acceptable solutions:
1.) City of St. Pete should resurface/blade the alley way.
2.) Sanitation truck should cease & desist coming on my property, entry area to be resurfaced by city.

Requesting resurfacing of 70th Ave N (between 7th & 8th Sts) due to added wear & tear by City vehicles & heavy equipment during recent dredging of canal on North side of Fossil Park.

Fractured my ankle on 7/18 while walking on 8th st N, north side of Fossil Park. There have been numerous requests plus a signed petition regarding poor conditions in this area, and now a painful injury requiring minimum 6 week healing time , medical expenses & loss of wages.

City Sanitation truck uses 70th Ave N (aka 'alley') at 8th St when servicing the Parkview Condo dumpster, contributing to degradation of the roadway. Multiple utility and public service vehicles routinely drive on roadway while on their way to other job sites, as well as the general public, when searching for the entrance to Fossil Park. This has not disturbed the majority of residents in the past. However, attention was brought to the area recently when only one specific dead-end section of 70th Ave N (used only by residents), was resurfaced. The open-ended section of the road that is travelled & used by may vehicles, including City Sanitation, as can be seen by attached photo, and has not yet been resurfaced. As taxpayers, we would like equal service to this section of 70th ave N.

localized flooding - we need resurfacing - - please !

The residents of the 700 block of 70th avenue north are still waiting for response as to specific date(s) of service road resurfacing. We received notices informing us of a start date of Feb 01, 2016, and it is already May. One block over (the 600 block) was done months ago , and we have been repeatedly overlooked. Pinellas County Property Appraiser shows that all homes on those blocks are of the same size. Google maps shows the road as 70th Ave N (not labelled as 'alley') Why is the 700-800 section of 70th Avenue North considered 'private' , while the 600 block is maintained by the city ? We have a petition signed by a majority of the residents requesting equal service.

ongoing issues with park 'residents' need to be addressed (soiling waterways with human waste, sleeping, storing belongings) - - permanent solution needed.

Multiple 'park residents' sleeping on tables (intended for dining), exposing themselves, urinating & defecating in bushes along the shore (into public waterways that drain to Weedon Preserve), used toilet tissue on north bank of drainage canal 5, south side of Parkview condos. Excerpt of code :
sec. 11-23 of St. Petersburg code of ordinances:

Sanitary nuisance means the commission of any action or the keeping, maintaining, propagation, existence or permission of anything, by a person, by which the health or life of an individual or the individuals, may be threatened or impaired or by which or through which, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, DISEASE MAY BE CAUSED . . .

shoreline of lake is cluttered with debris , trapped in the roots & overgrown branches- - foam cups, plastic bottles & bags, beer cans,, clothing, shoes,, especially on the north shore walkway (along the adjacent canal). There are even toxic items in there (empty motor oil bottles). Clean up needed, please !

70th Ave N (service alley) , between 7th & 8th Aves. Multiple potholes, street in disrepair, needs resurfacing. The section between 6th & 7th aves was resurfaced, west 0f 7th ave has been neglected, despite repeated requests for equal service. Residents have signed a petition and will be coming to the Mayor's office in person to address the issue in hopes of resolution. As taxpayers, are we not entitled to equal service ?

Multiple people are urinating & defecating on the south bank of canal 15, under the large shrub (near large shelter, across from Park View Condos). This issue has been previously reported, with no results. People have been seen exposing themselves, carrying roll of toilet paper into the area which has resulted in a a build up of soiled toilet paper along the bank of the canal. Solutions offered by the public (trim the shrub, install a port-o-let, have a 'beat cop' monitor the area) have not been implemented by local authorities.The entire stretch of canal has been in need of clean up for quite some time. It ultimately links to the Weedon Island State Preserve. Next communication will be to the media and the EPA.

'Port-O-let' style toilet facility needed in Fossil Park (near large gazebo) to accommodate the park 'residents' who live under the large gazebo (occupy the space from dawn till dusk daily with shopping carts of personal belongings) & use the nearby & surrounding shrubs as a public latrine. If this is not feasible, a police officer should inform them to use the facilities in the firehouse or library.
