What is the process for a property owner in North Grafton to purchase a family burial site at the Pine Grove Cemetery across from St Mary Parish?

The issue of SPEEDING on Francis St has once again surfaced, since the winter weather to this point in time, has been fairly mild. As soon as the roads are clear of any ice and snow - the speed traveled up and down Francis Street increases dramatically. PLEASE SLOW DOWN - there are many children and elderly people in this area...I respectfully request increased patrols for speeders in this area. Even though this is a long-established neighborhood, perhaps we should put up a SPEED LIMIT SIGN and / or THICKLY SETTLED AREA sign to remind the general public? Just a thought....JRD.

As noted in this pic, the cracks that are at a 90 degree angle to the direction of gravity water flow from rain - which runs from South to North down Francis St towards its intersection with Jay St. The cracks - over the years - have gotten wider and now are forming alligator patterns as well. Some of the cracks, when they were much smaller, have indeed been sealed - as you can see from the pic - but those too have pulled apart and widened to a point that when heavy sheet flows of rainfall approach same, some of the water enters the opening in the pavement and heads beneath the road surface. If you look closely at the pic towards the new driveway at 8 Francis St - the very large cracks that went right into my property, and caused some pretty good frost heave separations - especially last winter, have been reworked and repaved to the tune of $3,000.00 - paid for by yours truly. MY QUESTION IS: BEFORE THE FROST HEAVES OPEN UP THE TRANSVERSE CRACKS THIS WINTER, WHICH BY THE WAY - REPEATS THIS PATTERN UP AND DOWN THE STREET IN NUMEROUS LOCATIONS... CAN SOME TLC BE APPLIED IN THE FORM OF CRACK FILLING MATERIAL IN THE REALLY BAD SPOTS? THE TEMPS ARE STILL AT A POINT WHERE THE MATERIAL WILL CURE - JUST AS LONG AS WE APPLY IT ABOVE 55 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, AND HOPE FOR A LITTLE WARM SPELL TO CURE PROPERLY....Please advise, and THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPRESS MY CONCERNS. JRD.

FRANCIS STREET is part of a THICKLY SETTLED AREA. Respectfully request increased occasional drive by patrols by TOWN OF GRAFTON POLICE DEPARTMENT - speeding up and down FRANCIS STREET is common, with estimated speeds of over 50mph - many children are present at various times of the day...Thank you / JRD.

GOD BLESS AMERICA! I PRAY CONSTANTLY FOR THOSE THAT HAVE GIVEN THEIR ALL IN OUR QUEST FOR CONTINUED FREEDOM, AND THEIR FAMILIES - THOSE LEFT BEHIND - AS WELL.... I FOR ONE, WILL NEVER FORGET THE SACRIFICES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE THROUGH HISTORY UP TO AND INCLUDING THIS VERY DAY - BOOTS ON THE GROUND RUN DEEP WITHIN MY OWN FAMILY HISTORY, AND THE PRIDE THAT COMES WITH FIGHTING TO KEEP THE "AMERICAN WAY" FREE AND CLEAR OF ALL WHO WOULD TRY TO TAKE IT FROM US - IS A FEELING THAT CAN NOT BE PUT INTO WORDS....MAY THE GOOD LORD CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER US - ALL OF US - AND IF THERE REALLY IS SUCH A THING AS "WORLD PEACE" - LET US PRAY AS HARD AS WE CAN - TO SEE IT COME TO FRUITION, IF NOT FOR US - BUT FOR OUR CHILDREN AND OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN....

FYI...AND POINT OF ORDER - THE TOWN OF GRAFTON MA HAS A LIMITED ROADWAY REPAIR BUDGET, AND AN EXTREMELY TIGHT MAJOR CONSTRUCTION BUDGET FOR ROADWAY PROJECTS - YES - I UNDERSTAND THAT COMPLETELY, HOWEVER - THIS ISSUE APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED IN THE PUBLIC ROADWAY (FRANCIS ST) RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY RESIDENCE AND IS NOW EXTENDING TO MY PRIVATE PROPERTY (DRIVEWAY / WALLS / HOUSE???) SOON TO BE AT MY FRONT DOOR.... THIS IS ONE ISSUE THAT CAN NOT CONTINUE TO BE PUT ON THE BACK BURNER - SOMEONE FROM THE TOWN OF GRAFTON MA HAS TO STOP BY AND LITERALLY SPEAK IN PERSON TO ME ON SITE TO SEE FIRST HAND WHAT IS ABOUT TO TURN INTO A DISASTER....LOOK - I SEE YOUR ORANGE TRUCKS DRIVE BY ALL THE TIME, MY HOUSE IS BLESSED WITH TOP NOTCH SECURITY FEATURES - YET, YOU NEVER STOP AND RING THE DOORBELL....PLEASE, STOP BY AND LET'S TALK - I AM ABOUT TO CONTACT SEVERAL PRIVATE CONSTRUCTION FIRMS TO HAVE THEM VISIT WITH ME ONSITE, TO DISCUSS WHAT THE APPROACH SHOULD BE TO RECTIFYING SAME, SINCE IT INVOLVES BOTH THE TOWN PROPERTY AND MY PRIVATE PROPERTY.... LOOK, THIS IS NOT A STAND OFF - I JUST NEED SOME ADVICE FROM THE TOWN - AFTER ALL THE DOLLARS I USE TO PAY MY TAXES AND FEES TO THE TOWN OF GRAFTON MA ARE GREEN AND REAL AS WELL AS ANY OTHERS!!!!!!

As a resident of FRANCIS ST in N GRAFTON (OVER 50 YEARS) I would like to call attention to the INCREASED SPEEDING INCIDENTS THAT HAVE BEEN OCCURING ON A DAILY BASIS, BOTH UP AND DOWN FRANCIS ST, AT ANY GIVEN HOUR OF THE DAY (24/7/365). Even though the overall neighborhood has many Senior Citizens, we also have an ever-changing influx of younger families with children. I personally have witnessed too many close calls - especially with pedestrians and young children trying to safely use the public road. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST INCREASED POLICE PATROLS, WHEN AVAILABLE - SPECIFICALLY DURING MORNING AND AFTERNOON SCHOOL AND COMMUTING HOURS. THANK YOU.

What is going on with the stretch of roadway that seems to keep icing over - between the merge from Bridge Street with Worcester St and the turn onto Airport Road, before the North Grafton Post Office? Is this BREAKOUT FROM A FAILED SEPTIC SYSTEM IN THE FRONT OF ONE OF THE HOMES THAT HAVE VERY STEEP ANGLES LEADING DOWN TO THE SIDEWALK AND CURB LINE OF WORCESTER ST? OR - IS IT A BROKEN PIPE - ALREADY - BENEATH THE ROAD SURFACE AT THE CURB LINE? IT IS VERY SLIPPERY, AND WITH THE WEATHER SO COLD - IT IS CONSTANTLY FROZEN.... PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS - SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT.

DRAINAGE CATCH BASIN COVER AND MAN HOLE COVER ARE ABOUT TO FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY - BOTH ARE SURROUNDED BY DEEP POTHOLES THAT HAVE COMPROMISED THE STRUCTURAL LOAD CAPACITY OF EACH, FOR ANY AND ALL VEHICLES TRAVELING OVER SAME. YES - THIS IS FEDERAL GOVT PROPERTY, BUT IT DOES IMPACT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US WHEN WE GO TO AND FROM THE NGPO. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE SOON, BEFORE THE ENTIRE APRON SECTION FAILS, AND A HUGE SINK HOLE DEVELOPS....

WE USUALLY PURCHASE OUR GREEN TRASH BAGS (15 GALLON) AT STOP AND SHOP - ON A REGULAR BASIS. RECENTLY, WE WERE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT THE PRICE HAD INCREASED FROM $2,50 TO $4.50 FOR ONE PACKAGE OF (5) 15-GALLON GREEN TRASH BAGS????? A LITTLE PRICY - DON'T YA THINK? - ESPECIALLY FOR SENIORS LIKE US.....AND NO NOTICE EITHER - NOT GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS PEOPLE!!!!!
  • Jay St And Brigham Hill Rd Grafton, Massachusetts - Grafton
Traffic moves VERY QUICKLY ON BRIGHAM HILL ROAD - GOING BOTH WAYS - BETWEEN DEERNOLM AND KAY ST, JUST PRIOR TO THE MASS PIKE OVERPASS..... It would increase the safety of those who travel this area - by USING THE SAME PRINCIPLE THAT THE TOWN OF GRAFTON DID ON THE UPPER PORTIONS OF BRIGHAM HILL THAT INTERSECT WITH NORTH BRIGHAM HILL....BY PAINTING DOUBLE YELLOW LINES IN KEY AREAS ON THE ROADWAY, SO AS TO KEEP PEOPLE ON THEIR RESPECTIVE SIDES..... YOUR THOUGHTS????
  • Deernolm At Worcester St Grafton, Massachusetts - Grafton
If you are proceeding North on Worcester St and stop to make a left hand turn onto Deernolm Road - I am certain you have noticed how quickly vehicles of all sizes close in on you from the rear, and zoom right by on your right - with what I consider - an imaginary right side passing lane, that appears out of nowhere - just when you need it most - TO AVOID A POTENTIALLY DEADLY REAR END COLLISION..... There are times during peak hours, that the stacking lane to turn left onto Deernolm Road, contains many vehicles, and as you know - people drive faster and faster every day, with little thought of safety.... CAN THIS AREA BE REWORKED, TO ALLEVIATE OR LESSEN THIS POTENTIAL TRAGEDY? NEEDLESS TO SAY - THE TELEPHONE POLES IN THAT AREA WILL HAVE TO BE RELOCATED AS WELL - THERE ARE SEVERAL THAT ARE HEAVILY OVERLOADED AND JUST WAITING TO BE SMASHED INTO.....WOULDN'T YOU AGREE?
  • Worcester St @ Airport Rd Grafton, MA - Grafton
IN THE INTERESTS OF PUBLIC SAFETY - A HEAVILY REINFORCED STEEL SECURITY GATE SHOULD BE INSTALLED AND LOCKED - RIGHT WHERE THE CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES ACCESSED THE HOVEY POND DAM OFF OF WORCESTER STREET BY THE NORTH GRAFTON POST OFFICE - WHILE MAKING RECENT REPAIRS TO SAME.....

  • Jay Street @ Francis Street Grafton, Massachusetts - Grafton
SOME TIME AGO - REPAIR WORK WAS PERFORMED ON AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY ON THE NORTH EDGE OF PAVEMENT ON JAY STREET, OPPOSITE THE INTERSECTION WITH FRANCIS STREET ( east property line of 13 Jay St and west property of 15 Jay St).... The roadway surface above the repair work has never been properly filled in and brought back to grade - the highway cones are still in place above the area, and the opening / hole itself is sinking.... It is collecting surface runoff and most likely is getting scoured out even more by the edges of snowplows.... Please provide status update as to when the REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETED - WE HAVE MANY WALKERS, JOGGERS, CHILDREN AND TRAFFIC IN THIS AREA - IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, OR EVEN WORSE.....
  • Brigham Hill And Deernolm Grafton, Massachusetts - Grafton
Has the Town of Grafton done a recent traffic study at this intersection? During the past 5 - 10 years, the rate and type of traffic flow has changed considerably - in a negative sense....for example - speed on Deernolm Street is easily approaching 50 miles per hour in both directions, and the construction traffic coming through this area is very frequent. Close calls have multiplied exponentially - I can personally attest to that!!! I think it is time to re-think the distinct possibility of putting in traffic controls (overhead signals, designated crosswalks with pole signal prompts, etc..) Please advise, and thank you for allowing me to comment on this area. Respectfully yours, JRD.

There is a fire plug on the NE side of Francis Street close to the property line separating 5 and 7 Francis Street and about 10 feet off the pavement. Over the past several seasons, the frost heave damage that occurs around this time of year - close to the fire plug - has caused progressively worse deterioration of the paved surface, to a point where cracks up to 2 inches are exposing the road base. Surface drainage on the road seems to enter the cracks, as it flows from south to north down Francis Street. The roadway surface is sinking in certain areas by the fire plug. Also - with the location of the water and sewer lines beneath the street, could there be a leak in this area, that has eroded a large enough void beneath the pavement, that soon will form a pretty good sized sinkhole???? Please advise / thank you.
