120 Washington St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
Outdoor seating blocking half of bike lane The car lane is narrow enough that cyclists are forced into the path of cars
  • 365 Essex St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
Sinkhole starting to form just off the curb by the library. This intersection is prone to such problems. It's time to dig deeper and find the source.
  • 20 Commercial St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
The street and sidewalk are still floode more than an hour after high tide The canal is already about 6' below its high water mark d
  • Bridge St & Carpenter St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
There's a defect in the street on Bridge St. There's a patch on the street, but it keeps sinking below the level of the main street.
  • Essex St & Flint St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
This dip in the road keeps reappearing, despite remediation efforts by the city. I suspect there is a leak near whatever pipe runs under the road here. There's a manhole cover that keeps having a dip next to it, despite repeated filling.
  • Boston St & Bridge St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
There are actually 2 potholes IN the intersection. It is very difficult to turn left from Boston St. onto Bridge St. without hitting one or both of them.
  • 6 Proctor St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
The sidewalk is almost completely overgrown with weed bushes. It would be nice to be able to walk on the shady side of the street when it's 95º out, but I can't. Also the low-growing weeds trap garbage, making an unsightly mess and a convenient food source and breeding ground for vermin of all sorts.
  • 177–199 Federal St Salem 01970, United States - City of Salem

The crosswalks on Boston St, between Essex and Bridge St, Buy particularly at Federal St, are almost completely gone. Some paint loss is due to normal wear. Some is from road repairs. Some is because the crosswalk was only ever two white lines, not a full zebra. In any case, all the striping on this section of road needs refreshing.

Cars come speeding towards the light at either end and some of the crosswalks have no other indicators.

  • Broken fence Archived
401 Bridge St City of Salem, MA - City of Salem
Once again, a strong gust of wind has knocked out slats from the fence at the Community Life Center.
  • 401 Bridge St 01970 - City of Salem
The new fence around the CLC parking lot broke during yesterday’s wind storms. Pieces of the panels near the two gates have blown free and are scattered about the parking lot.
  • 73 North Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
Over the past few weeks, I have noticed the same cars parking at the area generally used for the dog park and Farm Direct Food Co-op. I have seen drivers get out and walk towards the Commuter Rail station. The "1 hour parking" signs are quite faded and it is unclear whether commuters are allowed to park in the area that had been used when the garage was being built. (Those lines still remain quite clear.) People are also parking along the ramp to the overpass, making the entrance to the parking area quite narrow.
  • Peabody St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
The entire stretch from 0-38 Peabody Street is riddled with potholes. It's possible to swerve around them if nobody is parked nearby and if there's no snow bank.
  • 12 Boston St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
A big thank you to whoever hacked back the bushes from the corner of Boston & Fowler! I see that the sidewalk panels have been marked as if to say they will soon be repaired. I look forward to being able to walk that section of street without stumbling.
  • Boston Street And Essex Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem

There are 2 sets of lights at this intersection, in order to keep the area in front of the fire station clear. Which is a great idea. Sometimes the left turn light at Boston and Essex will have nobody waiting but there will be a big line of cars waiting in the left turn lane at the fire station. It's not that the light is broken, rather that the trigger for the turn signal should be at the previous light, by the fire station. So if cars are unable to get tot he front light, they will still be allowed to go through the WHOLE intersection along with the cars continuing straight on Essex.

This causes backups every day when traffic gets at all congested on Highland Ave. Like when Collins Middle School starts and ends.

  • 135 Federal St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
Both these lights have been out for quite some time. It makes for a very dark section where they SHOULD overlap. That happens to also be a place where the brick sidewalk, on both sides, is either uneven or missing some bricks.
  • 180 Federal St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
The street light directly in front of 180 cycles on and off every few minutes.
  • 145 Federal St Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
The entire intersection at Flint and Federal is a mess. There were a couple of potholes last spring, but now it's hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. I know this area had been slated for repaving in the coming months. If anything can be done to expedite that or at least to fill some of them in before a cleaner fix can be done, that would be great. I worry about trying to bike through there any time soon, especially in the dark.
  • 33 Loring Avenue Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem

Loring Ave near Horace Mann is a mess at school pickup even on sunny days in June. It is now barely wide enough for a single lane of parked cars to keep traffic flowing. If snow is not removed before the next storm, I fear we will no longer be able to pick up our children at all.

Normally parents can park on the side streets for a few minutes, but that is no longer possible, as those streets are barely plowed to one travel lane.
