Traffic Light Archived12 Lawrence Avenue Portland, Maine - Portland
Lawrence Avenue (a dead end with very little traffic) gets a 10-second green light on every cycle at this busy intersection, regardless of whether there are any cars waiting to turn off of Lawrence.
An extra 10 seconds per cycle may not seem like much, but anything to help reduce the backup on Washington at this light would be helpful. During rush hour there is a line of cars stretching all the way back to 295, and this light seems to be the major choke point.

80 Allison Avenue Portland, Maine - Portland
Pan Am freight trains have been idling in the neighborhood very often in the past few weeks, including one that sat running overnight from 6pm to 10am last weekend.
The engine noise is extremely loud and our whole house smells like diesel fumes. It is keeping us from sleeping. We have called Pan Am but the trains continue to appear.
This is a noise and a health issue and if the engines continue to stay here for hours (especially overnight), they need to be shut down while parked.

Paint Street Lines Archived553 Maine 26 Portland, Maine - PortlandLane lines are completely gone on Washington heading towards the Veranda St. intersection. Some drivers know to split into two lanes here, but others drive right down the middle or drift back and forth. It is quite dangerous, especially during rush hour.

Street Light Needed Archived1249 Riverside Street Portland, Maine - PortlandThis underpass (Riverside St under I-95) could really use a street light. It's currently very dark driving through there at night, and I have encountered cars stopped or parked in the street several times that could easily be hit.

Traffic Light Timing Archived4 Auburn Street Portland, Maine - PortlandThe light to cross Auburn (between Washington and the Shaw's parking lot) only turns green when a car is waiting to leave the parking lot. There does not appear to be a sensor for cars waiting on the other side (next to Lib's). Traffic was stopped on that side through the 3-way stop this morning around 9am until a car approached from the Shaw's side.

Freight train has been idling in the middle of our residential neighborhood for 24 hours, making loud engine/air brake noise and spewing fumes. The entire neighborhood smells like diesel exhaust.
Calls to Pan Am were unanswered and we are now into our second night of interrupted sleep. The engine is less than 100 feet from some houses. Please help us at least find out when it will leave.
