  • 450-508 Macarthur Boulevard Oakland, CA - Adams Point
A sofa and other trash dumped in the city parking lot under the freeway adjacent to MacArthur Blvd.
  • Irrigation Leak Acknowledged
Splash Pad Park Path Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
Water appears to be bubbling up from below and puddling on the DG and adjacent concrete plaza. This is on the fringes of Splash Pad Park directly across from the Bank of America.
  • Se Corner Of Grand And Lake Park Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
The two electrical receptacles at the north end of the Splash Plaza in the planter beds under the palm trees are not functioning. They are obviously blown with scorch marks all over their faces. This issue was reported on December 20 to the PWA Call Center.
  • 3419 Grand Avenue Oakland, CA - Grand Lake
The street tree in front of 3419 has dropped a limb that is partially blocking the sidewalk.
  • 3300 Grand Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
There was minor flooding on the 3300 block of Grand Avenue this morning. The gutters and sidewalks are covered with mud and debris--particularly on the East side of the street near the theater. Area merchants could use help removing the leaves and other debris and also with hosing off the walks and curbside parking area.
  • Corner Of Lakeshore And Rand Oakland, CA - Lakeshore

The large raised triangular planter that was recently installed and landscaped as part of the Lakeshore Complete Street project is completely filled with water to the point that it resembles a pond. There is an obvious drainage problem but also the possibility that the new irrigation system is malfunctioning.

In addition, the plant bed about 15' east alongside the curb needs additional soil and also may have irrigation issues since the low spots are filled with water.

  • 600-620 Rand Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
There is a major, hazardous pothole at the northwest corner of Lake Park and Lakeshore adjacent to the crosswalk. The contractor working in this location about ten days ago is responsible for an extremely poor patch in the asphalt. They also left a gap in the paving about ten feet up Lakeshore that is a hazard for bicyclists.
  • Macarthur Fwy Oakland, CA - Adams Point
There's broken automobile window glass in at least 4 locations in the city parking lot under I-580 between Grand and Lakeshore. Entrance is on Lake Park Avenue.
  • 471-529 Lake Park Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
This is in Splash Pad Park behind the electrical panel box. This is the second time I've reported this.
  • 498 Lake Park Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
A large section of sidewalk in front of the Bank of America has been uplifted by the adjacent street tree and one section in the middle is broken in half. This is a terrible tripping hazard.
  • Lake Merritt Blvd Oakland, CA - Civic Center
New curbs and curb cuts have been installed on Lake Merritt Blvd as part of the 12th Street project but new asphalt has not yet been laid. The result is a 2 inch lip separating the asphalt roadway from the apron of the curb. At most (but not all) of the curb cuts, a temporary asphalt patch has been installed. At the one on the west bound side of the Blvd approaching the new bridge, a patch has not been installed creating a hazardous condition for cyclists. I took a nasty spill here on Saturday morning and am told this problem has been reported previously but not addressed.
  • 471-529 Lake Park Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
The lid is missing from an electrical vault in Splash Pad Park directly behind the main breaker box at the foot of the grass-covered hill. This is a tripping hazard--particularly at night.
  • Street Tree Removed Acknowledged
677 Rand Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
A street tree in front of Holy Land was recently removed allegedly by the City of Oakland after the restaurant complained that it was blocking their signage. I'd respectfully suggest that pruning would have been a much more judicious and cheaper alternative. Although this tree is history, I'd hope that Public Works would take steps to prevent this from happening elsewhere.
  • 471-529 Lake Park Ave Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
The gutters on the south (freeway) side of Lake Park Avenue are constantly full of trash. This includes the gutters bordering the street medians and the entrance to the parking lot under the freeway. Can we please get the street sweepers regularly scheduled for this area?
  • Lake Park Avenue Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
Parking meter pole is serving no purpose and obstructs pedestrian traffic on Saturdays during the farmers market. It is on the Splash Pad Park side of Lake Park Avenue directly across the street from the Band of American.
  • Splash Pad Park Path Oakland, CA - Lakeshore
In the process of installing intelligent signaling devices, Steiny & Co. dug a trench parallel to the sidewalk at the entrance to the park directly across from the Grand Lake Theatre. They simply backfilled the trench with DG that had been removed. It's no longer compacted and a good deal of gravel has migrated to the surface. It should be restored to its original state with new DG with added stabilizer.
  • 3264 Grand Oakland, CA - Lakeshore

A plumber dug a trench from the curb to the building foundation; found a damaged drain and the property owner has been arguing with the city for many, many months about who is responsible for the repairs.

Meanwhile, it's badly covered with a raised plywood sheet that is a major eyesore and a major tripping hazard.
