  • Main Street Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
For several days now there has been a Christmas tree laying in the sidewalk and crosswalk in front of the Pharmacy blocking pedestrian access. Time for it to be removed and thrown away before someone gets hurt tripping over it.
  • Surfside Beach Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
For several years now, access to the showers and restrooms at Surfside Beach has been blocked by brush.

  • Surfside Beach Parking Lot Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
Cyclists going to the beach at Surfside are locking their bikes to the benches by the bus stop and leaving them there all day blocking the benches from people trying to use them. There is nowhere to sit while waiting for a cab or the bus. Signs should be placed there at the benches prohibiting cyclists from locking their bikes to them all day.

The Town has not maintained this sign since it was first installed. It's completely obscured now.
  • Gray Ave Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
Gray Ave is not being maintained by the Town. It is impassable now. Someone has placed a traffic cone in the middle of one of the deeper potholes. There are several potholes from one end to the other. I understand the Town is severely short staffed and are way behind and overwhelmed but this is pretty serious. Someone is going to get hurt.
  • Scott'S Way/Fairgrounds Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
Did the Town recently mow the sides of the Fairgrounds Road Bike Path near Scott's Way and up towards the Surfside Road and around Rugged Road? If so, you left piles and piles of grass clippings all over the bike path. Pedestrians and bike riders have to slog through this mess now. I remember last summer when the Town mowed the sides of the Polpis Road Bike Path, they also left the grass all over the bike path. It took several complaints here to get the Town to go back out and clean it up.
  • Polpis Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
How long are those two trenches going to be left open on the Polpis Road? The ones with the bumps. If you don't go over them slowly you risk damaging the suspension on your vehicle. I remember how long it took them to pave the Hooper Farm Road and it's sidewalk. Do we have to wait over a month for the Polpis Road to be addressed as we did for the Hooper Farm Road and it's sidewalk?
  • Fairgrounds Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
I understand the DPW is still cleaning up from the blizzards of last winter. And I understand the DPW is severely understaffed. I reported a tree limb partially blocking the Fairgrounds Road bike path almost three weeks ago. The limb is still there blocking the bike path. Someone is going to get seriously hurt if they run into it on a bike especially at night. Are there any plans on having this removed?
  • Madaket Road/Warrens Landing Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket

This pothole was reported by someone else here back in November of 2014 and has not been filled since. It has become very deep. Huge accident waiting to happen.

    Here's the original post-

Pavement eroded from edge of road into roadway. Deep hole is safety issue. Potential damage to vehicles. On east side if Madaket Road near Warren's Landing intersection and mile marker 4

  • Fairgrounds Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket

  • Harbor View Way Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
I understand the DPW is busy cleaning up for the dreaded Daffy Day. Could you please remove the flood gate at Children's Beach so we can launch more than one boat at a time?
  • Cliff Road Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
I understand the DPW is overwhelmed after the snow storms. I understand there are thousands of potholes out there to be filled. And I understand the DPW is understaffed. All winter there has been a massive pothole on the Cliff Road near where it intersects with the Madaket Road. The pothole covers most of the roadway. Very dangerous situation.
  • Orange Street Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
The sidewalks on both sides of the street on Orange Street have not been cleared of snow all winter. From Main Street to Cumberland Farms the sidewalks are impassable due to snow forcing people to walk on a very busy street. I understand the DPW is way behind this winter and I understand you have a severe shortage of staff. And I understand the storms were historic.
  • Harbor View Way Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
I understand the DPW is severely understaffed. I understand The DPW is overwhelmed this winter. I understand the storms were historic. For over a week now the wood flood gate at the Children's Beach Ramp has been closed preventing access to the ramp. Commercial scallopers use the ramp on a daily basis to launch their boats. Could someone open it in the near future? And does the gate have to be left closed for over a week after a storm event?
  • Washington Street Nantucket, Massachusetts - Nantucket
I know the DPW is short staffed and I know the storm was biblical. It's going on three weeks now and the sidewalks on Washington Street near the Marine Department and the Town parking lot and down by the NISDA cottages are still loaded with snow, boats, lumber, trash and eelgrass. They are impassable forcing pedestrians into a very busy roadway. Very dangerous situation.
