A couple years ago, the city did a great job of fixing the intersection of Mendenhall and McGee streets. One problem remains: At the southeast corner of the intersection, there's a low spot where a large and rather deep puddle forms every time it rains. It's too big for pedestrians to step over and too deep to walk through without soaking your shoes. Going around it requires walking out into traffic. The attached photo shows it this morning after just a quarter of an inch of rain.

Weeds more than 12 inches high. This is a problem at this address every spring and summer. Is there any action you can take to address the underlying problem -- neglect of maintenance by the landlord -- rather than just the symptoms, over and over again?

The apartments' dumpster and recycling cans are sitting in plain view, not screened from view, in the property's lot behind the building on Edgar Street. This violates city and historic district rules.

Pothole is in the eastbound lane just beyond the driveway for the UNCG Science Building.

I talked with a parking enforcement officer about this SUV a few weeks ago, and he was familiar with it. He said it was at least being moved around from one parking space to another. But that day, I noticed it was parked at an odd angle, well away from the curb. And it has remained in the same spot, parked at the same odd angle now for three weeks or so. It also has an expired license plate. It has definitely been parked in the same space more than seven days. It looks abandoned.

The curb in front of the McIver Square condos is crumbling almost the entire length of the complex.

A series of potholes is developing on Oakland Avenue between Tate and Joyner streets.

First of the season! I look forward to working with you again this spring and summer to motivate College Hill's absentee landlords to at least occasionally mow the yards of their decaying properties.

Several tires have been dumped at the corner of South Mendenhall Street and Oakland Avenue.

See photo. There is a large parking area on this property, but now they're parking outside of it. This house is a serial offender on other ordinances. Please add this to the list, and if there's any action that can be taken to stop these kinds of things from occurring there, please do so. Gentle reminders and empty warnings aren't working.

This time they're not bothering with the cans, just dumping garbage at the curb. I think this is the fifth time this address has been reported for trash problems. When will you actually do something about it?

2-Hour Parking sign has lost its top screw or bolt and is hanging upside down on the utility pole next to the driveway.

A pile of yard waste has been dumped at the curb and the garbage collectors have driven by it at least twice without picking it up. Please either have the property owner deal with it or send a crew out to pick it up.

One of the walk/don't walk lights at Market and Mendenhall has been knocked sideways.

Someone is again dumping yard waste next to the sidewalk trash bin. The garbage collectors don't pick it up. Please get the owner of 405 S. Mendenhall to clean it up or just have the Solid Waste Department collect it. And get the owner of the property to stop dumping their yard waste at the street.
