    Less than one block from chabot elementary school

    The east boundary of Chabot Elementary school has Significant overgrowth of trees and weeds which, according to the Oakland Fire Department's recent safety inspection, is a SEVERE fire hazard. Bart officials say this is Cal Trans property. We have reported this issue several times over the past month with no response from Cal Trans.

    Cars turning right on Broadway still turn on red light, often not noticing pedestrians. There needs to be a physical barrier to protect pedestrians standing at corner (trucks drive over sidewalk to make sharp turn) and a "no turn on red" sign to alert drivers. Or a flashing light to alert cars there is a pedestrian crossing. Chabot elementary children use this crosswalk every morning and afternoon, and it's very dangerous.

    Potholes riddle Chabot Road from College Avenue up past Patton Street. It's like off-roading around here! With the traffic of school buses and students going to and from Chabot Elementary school, the roads are a wreck.
