    More about street design.

Why is the lane turning in from Park into Clement super wide (Park Tavern) while on Clement turning left into Park a single lane (which is constantly backed up)?

This makes no sense given how much more traffic leaves Clement onto Park.

  • 2379–2399 Clement Ave Alameda CA 94501, United States - Alameda

When on Clement, there is always a ton of cars turning left onto Park and constantly backup.

Clement needs a dedicated left lane with a left turn only light.

To Oakland Dept of Transportation, at the designated location there is a HUGE wheel-eating pothole that bottoms out vehicles - which can damage its suspension.

Aware drivers swerve away from it but swerving presents risks to adjacent drivers. Please fix this ASAP.

Please consider replacing the "no left turn from 3:30 pm to 6pm" sign on Park Ave (going eastbound) to a flat no left turn.

Given the uncontrolled growth in Alameda, every time someone makes a left during permitted time, it backs up traffic by a lot to one of the most if not the most busy egress point from alameda. Secondly, the allowing of this left during "off time" makes no sense because it doesn't lead to anything that requires it. The strip mall next to it doesn't need it.

Please, for the love of God and safety, consider a stop sign here.

Every attempt of turning out of Balsa, cars approaching from both directions is a very dangerous proposition, especially from eastbound (marina side) due to (1) high SUVs everywhere (2) street curvature stretch of Clement from Entrance to Balsa makes it impossible to see oncoming cars unless one's car is halfway out the street.

Data on accidents in this area is limited due to its newness. But if the city is all interested in making this street safer, please try pulling out of Balsa and one will understand where this post is attempting to articulate .

Folks responsible for designing this street really needs rethink the current setup.

The two lanes going eastbound (towards Jean Sweeney park) on Atlantic (x'ing at Wilma Chan) needs to be like this:

Left lane: left turn or straight
Right lane: right turn or straight

The current setup has the following flaws: (1) left turns only us usually have a breakout, which this does not (2) the sign that designates the turn types is not seen as it's buried too far to the right along with half a dozen other signs (3) once passing Wilma Chan, Atlantic is has two lanes that merge, so why not make these two lanes also go straight (4) Atlantic between Webster and Wilma Chan is short and often cars are cross-crossing each other in this area which is unsafe.

Please reassess the current design and take into consideration a more flexible throughway. It appears there's an obsession with dedicated left and right turns only that may be unnecessary .

If memory serves me right, I believe there are two potholes within this area. It has been there for at least a good month and it’s a nasty one. It certainly will almost bottom out car suspensions and can’t even be called “holes” because it’s relatively large to what’s typically seen. People have been swerving around it. Please fix ASAP. It’s an extremely busy street with nonstop use. It’s outbound to Oakland.
