This is a wide sidewalk and there are lots of businesses (Clover, Pret a Manger, Nero) - yet no city-installed bike racks. There are trees, and someone has seen fit to install a row of tiny signs telling people not to lock their bikes to the trees, but no bike racks despite the fact that there is plenty of room! Clover and Nero each have 1 portable-style rack but these are frequently full. It's ridiculous that this block has been open for years and there are no bike racks on the entire length. Please let me know where to direct inquiries - I've emailed the building management, the city, and MASCO with no results.

A 2-man work crew is working high up on a pole next to the intersection of Mass Ave and Amherst st. They are not working in the bike lane, but they have set out 3 cones across the very end of the bike lane, just by the stop line. There is no signage, no indication that bike lane is ending and bikes are supposed to take main lane. The workers claim to be adding a sign but 1) they are working high up on a pole - why not put an actual barrier and a sign on a level where cyclists can see it? and 2) why on earth is a lane of traffic being blocked during commuting hours? When I rolled through, there was no reason to have cones there - no equipment, no vehicles parked in bike lane. Workers got salty when many cyclists rolled through the cones - what did they expect? Put up actual safe signage if you are going to unexpectedly block a bike lane.

Lots of flexposts are missing or damaged on the bike lanes on Mass Ave - now, more cars and trucks are illegally parking because there is no buffer!

huge pothole in the bike lane right outside Boloco. This has been there for weeks! Someone stuck a cone in it at one point but the hole is still there.

Last night as the Boston Pops concert was letting out, there was a safety officer or cop in a yellow vest directing traffic at Mass Ave & Huntington, However, there were 4 different cars illegally parked in the bike lane on Mass Ave. Please instruct the officer on duty to TICKET the people illegally parking here and creating a dangerous situation during bad traffic.

Every morning since this was re-striped, private cars are parked in the bike lane outside the MIT student center. Please establish an enforcement presence here until people get the message - ticket, tow, do whatever is necessary so cyclists are not forced into traffic by people illegally blocking the bike lane.

11/13/18 at about 9:15 AM, Burke Distrubition company (Randoph, MA) was unloading cases of beer onto pallets, presumably delivering to Choice Fine Wines and Spirits. They had a pallet right in the middle of the protected bike lane and were piling it high with cases of beer, rather than putting it on the sidewalk ~2 feet away. This is a ridiculous abuse of a protected bike lane and the area needs more enforcement. Please ticket and inform local businesses that their delivery trucks cannot use active lanes as private unloading space.

this morning during commuting hours, there was a landscaping truck, a van, and a private vehicle parked in the newly repainted bike lane in front of MIT student center. Posting for data collection purposes, as I am sure the trucks have moved on by now.

Tibbetts Landscaping truck illegally parked in bike lane outside of MCPHS this morning at 9:15AM. Please step up enforcement in this area. Uber/Lyft and large trucks block this lane daily!

DiCarlo Foods truck illegally parked and actively unloading in the middle of the Longwood Avenue Bike lane, forcing bikes to merge into traffic. Truck was even encroaching on the car lane, meaning cars had to evade, causing a bottleneck. This was 9am during peak commuting hours!

Please step up enforcement in this area.

Two U-Hauls parked in the bike lane this morning during commuting hours. They were right across from the U-Haul facility.

This section of the Sidney Street bike lane is routinely blocked by delivery trucks illegally parked during commuting hours. Often it is a WB Mason truck, sometimes also landscaping trucks. Enforcement in this area is needed!
