  • 203 Country Club Rd Chapel Hill, NC 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
Sidewalk closed on both sides of Country Club; no detour provided. Getting through as a pedestrian requires some serious off-roading (or walking in the street)
  • 1740 Fordham Blvd Chapel Hill, NC 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
Ground has washed away underneath the edge of the pavement on Christopher
  • 36 Hayes Rd Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
Giant concrete block in the road, blocking the crosswalk and ADA ramp.
  • 215 S Estes Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
Someone appears to have crashed into the barriers on the protected walkway on Estes and knocked them out of kilter. (I'm very glad the barriers were there!)
  • 904 Christopher Rd Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
Hi. Is there anything that can be done to improve visibility where Christopher turns into Arrowood? It's a blind curve, and people in too-big-vehicles often cross the centerline like the one in the photo. It'd be nice to be able to see them coming sooner.
  • Rogerson Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill

sewer gas leak in the Rogerson Rd area, worse than usual

(I tried to share a more interesting version of this report but it got held up in moderation)

  • 901-941 Cleland Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill

TL;DR: Sewer gas leak in the Rogerson Rd area (much worse than normal)

Around 9 last night, our house started to smell like a @#$%. We'd had a fairly innocuous dinner of frozen pizza (it's been a long week, ok?), so it was unlikely to have come from us, and the puppy didn't seem to be feeling unwell enough to have generated so much stank on his own. All the toilets were flushed (you never know) and nothing appeared to be leaking. So we tried to put it out of mind.
Then, when we let the dog out this morning, OMG the outside was a giant blast of @#$%. We masked up and checked our sewer clean-out--it's all good, as are our immediate neighbors'. It's just STANK, in the air. Everywhere. Rogerson often has a certain aroma about it, especially when the weather changes, but this...this is far, far worse than normal.

I feel for whoever has to come out and investigate. It's not pleasant.

    Thank you.

ps I've pinned the location at the pumping station at the end of Cleland, but I'm not sure that's the epicenter of the stank.

  • S Estes Dr & Willow Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
There is no way to safely get from to the sidewalk on the south side of Estes at Willow from any other location--no crosswalks or pedestrian signals. Since that's the only way to get to Community Park, it really deserves some sort of protection for pedestrians and bicyclists. Please consider at least adding a crosswalk/ped signal at the entrance to Camelot Village.
  • 215 S Estes Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
The protected walking/biking path on Estes is great, but it's also accumulating leaves and has become quite slick. Please get the leaves out!
  • Douglas Rd & Oakwood Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
The stop sign for southbound traffic on Oakwood is nearly impossible to see (it's filthy and obscured by vegetation), leading drivers to think they have the right of way when they do not.
  • 1147 Burning Tree Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
Sidepath along the north side of Raleigh Rd is covered in leaves and pine needles, making the facility dangerously slick.
  • 301 S Estes Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
The tail end of the barrier protecting the sidewalk actually blocks the connection from the crosswalk to the sidewalk, forcing users into the soft grass to get from crosswalk to sidewalk and vice versa. Could the last block (the yellow one) be removed?
  • 502 Meadowmont Ln Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
giant pile of gravel blocking the bike lane, storm drain, and fire hydrant
  • Parking - Other Acknowledged
701 Cleland Dr Chapel Hill, NC 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
Cars parked up to the intersection at every approach to the Rainbow Fields on Cleland. There are zero sight lines for children walking to their soccer games. there are no parking signs.
  • Cleland Dr & Rogerson Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
Safety issues with lack of visibility: Motorists heading west on Cleland appear to not be able to see people at the stop sign on Rogerson, and vice versa. This is on my kid's usual route home from school and we've seen a number of close calls here. Would it be possible to clear some of the vegetation out of the way to improve the sight lines?
  • 8 Flemington Rd Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
This car is routinely parked here for extended periods of time (at least 4 hours already today), blocking the bike lane, crosswalk, and ADA ramp. There are no parking signs present already.
  • W Barbee Chapel Rd & Nc-54 W Chapel Hill, NC, 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
The pedestrian signal to cross Barbee Chapel Rd comes on at the end of the cycle, after traffic on Barbee Chapel has a green. Could it also come on after left-turning traffic from Raleigh Rd onto Barbee Chapel has a green phase? In theory, that left-turning traffic has already cleared the intersection, so adding in a protected ped phase right then shouldn't cause a backup. It can feel like a really long wait for sidepath traffic to get a signal the way it is.
Sorry if I'm not explaining this well; happy to go out there and explain better.
  • 4 Audley Ln Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
traffic sign broken off and looking very stabby
  • Raleigh Road At Oakwood Drive Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
coil of rusty wire covering the sidewalk
  • 403 Meadowmont Ln Chapel Hill, NC 27517, USA - Chapel Hill
there are now 3 tarps full of yard waste in the bike lane
