Roadway & Drainage Concern ArchivedExit 14 Columbia, MD, 21046, USA - ColumbiaHopefully the county does not plan to leave astroturf beside the drainage pond ... this creates a negative environmental impact which should be avoided. Please replace with native grasses, plants, trees/bushes to support the environment and wildlife in the area, as well as increase natural drainage and absorption.

Roadway Litter/Trash Archived8000 Main St Ellicott City, MD, 21043, USA - Ellicott City
Yet AGAIN the trash in the Lot B dumpsters have not been emptied in a timely manner and are overflowing. This issue has been reported NUMEROUS times and needs a long-term solution. The county's neglect of this area needs to stop
1) establish regular trash collection AT LEAST once a week - PUBLISH the dumpster collection schedule
2) monitor the situation throughout the year to determine if the collection schedule is appropriate - if not, make adjustments - add another collection day or increase the size of the dumpsters
3) ensure maintenance of the dumpsters - pretty sure the trash dumpster is missing a back wheel -
Historic Property Concern Archived8006 Main St Ellicott City, MD, 21043, USA - Ellicott CityLooks like vibrations from the train track/trusses are causing damage to the stone building on the west side of the bridge. Sign and Marking Concern Archived7147 Honeyladen Pl Columbia, MD, 21045, USA - ColumbiaSeveral of the new signs have been vandalized ... obbr07 and obbr14 ... there may be more?? Instead of spending money on unnecessary signs, perhaps the county could spend money on actually improving the safety by performing scheduled powerwashing and maint of the bridges or replacing the wood with a nonslick surface, like the new bridge leading away from Lake Elkhorn toward Oakland Mills. Just an fyi ... don't use plastic planking like at the Centennial dock ... that's insanely slippery no matter what
-
Street Light Concern Archived7102 Talisman Ln Columbia, MD, 21045, USA - ColumbiaNew street light design flaw - although the new street lights have a nice vintage look and are prob more efficient, there is a significant design flaw in the design chosen by the county (or did bge decide?) The light is not distributed very well, with a large dark area directly under each light. This could def cause a safety problem as visibility is reduced - cars may not see pedestrians and pedestrians may not see holes or other obstacles. Please seriously consider a diff style of light that provides more consistent light. Hope the county hasn't invested heavily in this new design ... it's pretty bad from a safety standpoint. Thank you

Sidewalk Concern Archived8267 Main St Ellicott City, MD, 21043, USA - Ellicott CityThe top step leading from the back of the visitor center down to lot D has completely crumbled and needs to be fixed. It's a safety hazard to pedestrians
-
Park Concern Archived7241-7271 Cradlerock Way Columbia, MD, 21045, USA - ColumbiaThe erosion at the end of the path near the dock has become worse since the county put in a french drain. The drain does not seem to be located where the water actually flows and the path with rocks is also starting to erode as well. It's also a bit of a hazard since it's so close to the path and hard to see when grass is tall around it ... pedestrians could eadily miss it and sprain an ankle in the rocks
