There is a wide strip of gravel along much of the bike lane on Pittsboro Street between South Road and South Columbia Theeye are gaps but it is almost continuous t is generally hazardous, but it is particularly hazardous when turning from westbound McCauley Street onto Pittsboro because it is hard to see and it causes the bike tires to lose traction The strip is quite straight, which makes me think the gravel was deliberately swept into the bike lane, perhaps to remove it from the travel lane, and just left there, which is not right It's a serious safety issues that should be remedied quickly. I would like a followup by email as noted below.

    1) Bike trigger does not work I sat waiting for two cycles The signal did not turn green until another car pulled in to the left turn lane (My lane is left-straight)

    2) Cycle time is too short I was barely in the middle of the intersection when the light turned red

  • 101–111 Sage Rd Chapel Hill NC 27514, United States - Chapel Hill
There are very nice bike lanes on Sage Road and on Old Durham Road However, the intersection at US 15-501 heading north is subpar The bike lane does not continue across the intersection and both cars and bikes are confused about how to behave. The first car will generally jump ahead, and it often is tricky for a bicycle to find a way to merge into traffic. Recommend adding a bike box in front of the through lane at the intersection to improve bicycTidy safety and comfort along this missing link of what is otherwise a continuous bike lane from Homestead Road to Garrett Road in Durham

The traffic signal on northbound Kingston St which provides access to the Vilcom complex and to the westbound bicycle lanes on Weaver Dairy Road does not activate for bikes, even though it links up to a major bicycle route Please reconfigure so that the signal triggers for a bicycle, or provide a default phasing so it will trigger after a predetermined time. I waited five minutes and it did not trigger

  • 713 W Barbee Chapel Rd Chapel Hill NC 27517, United States - Chapel Hill

Please adjust the pedestrian cycle at this intersection. I pushed the pedestrian call button and it took more than a minute for the walk signal to activate. However, the traffic heading east and west on NC 54 had a green lightt and that is thepart of the cyclel during whi the walk signal to cross Barbee chapel his activated The walk signal is only active for a total of about 20 seconds, including the countdown timer, so there’s no apparent reason why the walk signal could not be recalled at that time instead of waiting for the next cycle.

Interestingly, the last 10 seconds of the wait was spent with a green signal for cars exiting Barbee Chapel and the Meadowmont exchange parking area across the street, but there were no cars waiting in either location. In other words, cars that weren’t even waiting were given priority over a pedestrian who actively signaled to cross

Thanks for looking into this ch
