I see that I have to take my concerns to the Traffic Control & Public Works Agency as it is totally unsafe to suddenly close off the left turn lane on 35th that leads into Wisconsin. And also to block the lane for right hand turners onto Wisconsin. Not sure who guided the Traffic Department's decision and somewhat half-assed lane closure with tiny orange cones, but it flies in the face of safety. (I'm all for slow streets but wonder why it is okay to then move the traffic on other streets and make them less slow streets?) Cars travel dangerously fast up and down 35th and to suddenly take away a turn lane is quite dangerous. I have been honked at, had brakes squealed behind me and overall felt scared while waiting to turn onto Wisconsin from a lane previously devoted to going straight up the hill. And since cars seem to be driving more crazily than ever in addition to the fact that we've never gotten any City support for slowing down the traffic on 35th, I really can't understand the closure.
  • Sidewalk - Damage Acknowledged
4401 39th Avenue Oakland California , Oakland, California - Redwood Heights
"The sidewalk on Aliso Avenue adjacent to the Redwood Heights School playground is buckling due to tree roots growing beneath it. This presents a significant safety hazard for many of our school's students and families, who travel this route daily as they go to and from school. It is also especially concerning in advance of the school's walkathon in May, as this damage is directly along the route of the event. We greatly appreciate the city's efforts in quickly resolving this issue"
