The storm drain under the road was recently redesigned and replaced by county. Since then, there have been at least 3 collisions involving vehicles and the new elevated drain cover. One has been a county water truck. The other two have been trailers. The drain cover was elevated several inches and moved into the roadway, creating a clear hazard. The drain should be lowered and/or moved to it's original location out of the road. A simple guard/ramp, as suggested by county employees, will not be adequate as it will allow a vehicle to tip dangerously while rounding the turn, like in a Joie Chitwood car stunt.
