    The left turn lane for Northbound MLK turning left onto Westbound University Ave is 6-7 car lengths long but the protected left turn green cycle phase is so short during rush hour that only half the # of cars can actually complete the protected left turn safely. During the afternoon rush hour the left turn lane for MLK is often full and backs up into the straight / through traffic lanes of MLK. The same backup can reach all the way to Addison Street which can make the pedestrian / bike crossing unsafe when vehicles get stuck in the intersection.

    Not sure if the intersection has any loop detectors or sensors for the turn lane or if the timing needs adjustment by Public Works.

Not sure if there is a missing parking sign or if the curb is painted wrong? In the past this curb was painted yellow as a loading zone.
