Is there a reason that Avon Street needs to be a one-way? It used to be a two-way street, and if it could be made a two-way street again it would make driving and parking for those of us who live around this block MUCH more manageable, considering the construction on State Street. That way, it would be possible to turn up Avon from Cumberland Ave. to find a parking spot instead of having to deal with the intersection at Cumberland and State, which is pretty crazy these days, and loop back around to Deering.

It seems that part of the plan for the Deering Street reconstruction is installing "green infrastructure" within curb extensions. While this is a nice idea, I'm concerned about the decision to take up the space of several parking spots in an area where on-street parking is already very scarce. Does the city plan to compensate for those parking spots elsewhere?
