Human refuse in abundance in the park by the tennis courts, in the back of the fire station. I've personally collected trash there but the volume and someone's personal belongings are now stationed there daily. This is a public space and not a housing space. I recognize that the city of Decatur nor county have solved the issues but the sanitation in the public parks or in any public spaces still needs to be maintained. These items should be cleaned up and removed. (As kindly as possible as it relates to the personal belongings of a person). Thank you!!

Around lunchtime, and other times of day, various people go and they steal electricity from the city by plugging in their cell phones. The available access needs to be removed. This should no longer available to those who know the outlet is there by the garage for the city maintenance. Typically the un-housed. They also leave behind their trash. (Not all do, but many do).

Most recently, someone defecated near the park bench by the tennis courts, for my dog to eat it. This has also happened at Sycamore Park. I am so tired of the flagrant human waste that we the residents have to tolerate due to increasing unhoused populations. The numbers are increasing as is the impact they are having on sanitation and safety.

Note: a resident of the Arlo apartment complex said an unhoused person slept in the garage on the 6th floor with a machete.

This is not good. We need more cameras. Less loitering. And facilities away from the businesses downtown to help these people. Tourism to Decatur is important and these impressions do not help the businesses nor the residents.

The park needs signs saying no use after dark or whatever the rules are. Twice, my dog has gone into the bushes to bring out what is clearly human feces. (Yep, it's obvious). The number of I housed using the park, leaving trash behind (which I have picked up and thrown out) has increased. There now is human waste, including feces, and bedding, under the brush towards the train fence. The stench is bad as well in the area.

It is a park and unsanitary use is not acceptable. Signs addressing this need to be out up, as well as proper policing.

The bush is taking over the sidewalk and is very thorny. One person can pass at a time and typically forces someone to walk on the street. Needs to be cut back, flush with their property line.

Am a new resident to Decatur, and as such, have temp window treatments. It's become apparent to me that we have 2 city lights really close to each other (wasting energy), and one of them is glaring right into my home. I've been advised that the city can paint the inside of the lamp so that the resident-facing side is blackened out. (You may have other remedies as well.) I'm anxious to have the nights here actually have some darkness to them, if at all possible. I've called the city, and emailed a manager. To date, no response. Please see the pic attached. The lamp on the left is the one which is glaring into the home.
