In the mornings between 6:30 - 7:30, Several cars park and idle in the left lane approaching Gandy Blvd while waiting for the school bus. This lane blockage forces commuters to use the right lane only, while children from the offending cars are attempting to exit the idling vehicles directly into the same lane. This has been an ongoing issue for the past 3 years, and is becoming worse with the recent addition of Peridot Palms apartments. This activity is endangering not only to motorists, but especially to the children whose parents are forcing them to exit the car into the only operable lane of traffic (by blocking the other).
