We have had a leaning, live utility pole, being held up by a rope tied to a tree, since July 2016. Repeated calls to Verizon (owns pole) and National Grid have lead no where. Verizon installed a new, fiberglass pole, which National Grid refuses to use.
National Grid have said it would be dangerous to relocate the High voltage lines using a secured ladder to get to the top of the new fiberglass pole [owned by Verizon} Note the pole is in the rear of our property with limited access. This is understandable, but when the power line was down on the ground in July, National grid shut off the power to that section of two houses. Perhaps the power could be shut off again while the lines are being relocated.
The pole has continued to lean and the rope is not a permanent solution to hold up a utility pole with live electricity. Our ward councilor has also been contacted twice, but that has not lead anywhere.
We are looking to sell our house in the next few months. This ongoing issue will be a huge hinderance to the sale.
