7 Mason St Portland, Maine - Portland
Hi, this is the fourth time I've reported this. If you can see the map I see, you'll notice that Mason Street extends about 40 feet past Belknap to a dead end. However, most of the plows turn the corner from Belknap to Mason, leaving me to dig out about 40 feet of city street by myself so that I can get out. Maybe 1 in 5 plows actually plows to the end of the street. The big plows can't fit, but the pickup truck plows can plow it. I know Mason is a weird little gravel road but we're paying our taxes here too and it's irksome to have to dig out a city street by hand and it takes a long time.

If you all can see the map that shows up on seeclickfix, you can see that mason street extends souith past belknap street for 50 feet. For the past 16 years, The snow plow USED to plow all the way to the end of mason street, leaving a big pile of snow at the end. This was good,I cleaned up all the rubble in the spring, no problem. But Now whoever is driving the plow turns the corner at Bellknap onto Mason, leaving me to dig out 50 FEET of Mason street by HAND. I've called numerous times and posted here on the website but I don't think anyone has told the plow driver about this. PLEASE PLOW ALL OF MASON STREET - I don't own Mason Street, and I don't feel like I should be digging out CITY PROPERTY so I can get out of my driveway! THANKS!

Hi, I know there's a ton of snow up there. The snow plows are still not plowing all of Mason Street. Coming from Rackelff Street, Mason Street extends about 50 feet past Belknap Street and past the front of our house. See the map. Since we bought the house in 1999, up until last year, all plows have plowed down Mason Street, past the front of our house, and piled up the snow at the end of Mason Street by the quince bush shown in the photo. But now the drivers just turn the corner and go down Belknap. This leaves a huge area of ice and snow that make it dangerous for trash collectors and mailmen.

In the picture, you can see a small heap of snow at the end of Mason Street because one of the drivers knows this. However the other drivers are stopping at the corner of Belknap. Today there is a giant mountain of snow and ice that we can't currently get past. I'm 62 and do not have a snow blower. I can handle my driveway but I can't dig up 50 feet of Mason Street by myself. I think the drivers think the end of Mason St is my driveway. It is not, I don't own it.

when I filed a ticket earlier, one plow came and cleaned up pretty well, but today it's back to "normal". Please talk to the plow drivers and ask them to resume what they've been doing for at least 15 years and probably longer than that - push all the snow to the end of Mason Street, where the bush is. We clean up all the gravel and leaves that get plowed up there in the spring and are fine with that because at least we can get out of our house.

    Thanks!

First, the snow plow operators do a great job!
However, in the past the operators plowed straight down Mason street across the front of our house and deposited the snow at the end of the road, which LOOKS like it's in our yard but is really still Mason Street.
Recently about half the drivers turn the corner from Belknap onto Mason and leave the snow in front of our house. Lately with rain and freezing, this pileup has turned into about 6 inches of solid ice, which is dangerous for the trash collectors, mail delivery people, and anyone who has to negotiate this road.
Today we have the same situation; there's a lot of unplowed snow in front of our house and across the whole street. With the rain later today, this will turn into solid ice again.
Please send a plow to go straight down Mason, across Belknap, and clear the street in front of our house, push the snow to the very end of Mason Street. Again, it will look like this is our yard, but we don't own it . If you can see the google map, you can see how Mason street extends ACROSS Belknap and ends PAST our house.
