  • 2027 Glendale Blvd. Kalamazoo Mi 49004 - Burke Acres
This construction was started nearly a year ago with the replacement of a valve to access home at 2027 Glendale Blvd. At one time it had barricades. It has been accessed several times through the winter and into the spring. From all appearances the reconstruction appears to be done. It needs to be filled, topsoil and seeded. Not only is it an eyesore, it is a very dangerous spot next to an active sidewalk. If pedestrians have not fallen into it by this time it is certain that they will. Look forward to its repair, thank you.

Great deal of water coming from opening in pavement on Thomas Street, flowing out on to Riverview and down the gutter into a drain. It appears to be a broken water main. This has been going on for weeks, if not months. Very surprised that it has not been addressed yet.

This is a dangerous sinkhole that is due to improper backfilling after installation of replacement waterline for lead pipes. It has dropped nearly a foot now and is expanding. The sinkhole is undermining the road and developing a depression across the road as well. Directly to the north there is another depression developing from the sewer line that had been hooked up in 2014 and was left as an active work site until replacing sidewalk last summer. There have been barricades and cones on this hole periodically over the past year until they are either stolen or knocked down by a car. Barricade currently laying on sidewalk. If it hasn’t already this location could easily cause an accident.
  • 1242 Bronx Ave 49048 - Eastwood
Sinkhole started developing at the edge of the road in the driveway into and including road surface, where the area had been dug out to replace and install a new waterline to 1242 Bronx Ave. This has continued through the winter, worsening with passing time. As well as the original sinkhole expanding and getting deeper, (up to 6 to 8 feet around and 8 to 10 inches deep currently.), a secondary sinkhole in the middle of the road, a noticeable disruption in the pavement surface, and a skewing of the adjacent sewer-head would give indication that something is taking place in this area under the road with the water and/or sewer. Since the replacement of the waterline the resident at 1242 Bronx Ave. has complained of lower water pressure and sediment in her water. This could also be another indication of some waterline leakage, (possible health and safety issues.), Since the lead waterline replacements of last fall there have been numerous quality issues noted of the roadway restoration and other sinkhole developments throughout this Eastwood neighborhood. I will follow up with more pictures of more addresses.

Downed limb causing obstruction. I have witnessed a bicyclist swerving around the protruding limb and almost being hit from behind by a moving vehicle. The limb among others along that stretch have been lying there since early spring storms. It is very dangerous.
