PLEASE SEE REQUEST # 4159710 made on 02/23/2018. That post goes into greater detail regarding the problem. The puddles are still there. When they re-paved the street they focused on the center of the road but didn't pave up to the edge. The puddles never went away because the unevenness that needs to be corrected is at the very edge of the road, where it meets the sidewalk, that is the area that needs to be filled in.

    Description
From 625 Summit ave to the crosswalk in front of the library. Both sides of Summit Ave, from intersection to mid-block. There are loooooong puddles where the sidewalk meets the street. When it rains, pedestrians get splashed by cars. The photo shows a splash zone on the sidewalk caused by vehicles. This is a small sample of what usually happens. When there is heavier rain, the entire sidewalk gets splashed! And on the other side, of the street, the puddles splash all over the people waiting at the bus stop.

  • Summit Ave At Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square

When crossing Newark Ave from the Library to Red Ribbon bake shop, the pedestrian walk signal lights up to cross but traffic at the stop light (cars in the north-facing lane on Summit Ave) get the green light and TURN LEFT onto Newark directly into pedestrians who are in the crosswalk. This has got to be a mistake.

It is tremendously unsafe. After waiting for 5 light cycles at this intersection, can pedestrians get a few seconds to cross without cars flying at us? Please??

628 Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ 07306, USA - Journal Square

The Construction Crew here has decided that blasting an air horn is a sensible way to communicate with their crane operator.

Every minute or two you hear a HONK, HOOONK, HONK. It is loud and obnoxious and the sound is aimed directly at our residential building. There has got to be a better way to send signals.

A walkie talkie? A cell phone and an ear piece? Flags? No other construction site in the area (and there are many) has a guy standing around, honking non-stop towards residential windows.

It is jarring and disturbings and significantly louder than a car (which would likely receive a ticket for standing around and honking). PLEASE HELP US!
