The directional sign on the island on Washington Avenue Extension across from 39 Sanborn Street has been hit again by a vehicle and it is down on the ground. Someone struck the sign with their vehicle or a snow plow took it down , either way the sign is down. It is laying flat on the ground near the telephone pole. The sign pole has been completely broken off. It is in better shape than it was the last time it was knocked down.

87 Skylark Road Portland, Maine - Portland
I do not know if this is a Public Works issue or if it may be a Police matter, you all can decide who is best to handle it. The people of 87 and 73 Skylark Road plow their yards, but they do not place the snow in their own driveways. They take the snow, plow is across Skylark and put it at the end of Pennell Avenue. The one problem is, is that I snow blow Pennell Avenue so I can get to my piece of land that is located 350 feet down the road. This portion of Pennell Avenue is not tared, so the Public Works will not plow this road. I park my utility trailer on this piece of land, which is mine, and in order to get to it, I snow blow this 350 feet to get to it. It is requested that you notify the people of 87 and 73 Skylark to stop plowing the snow from their driveways and putting it at the end of Pennell Avenue, where I end up having to snow blow it. They should be putting the snow on their own land, not that of the City. I have the trailer on my land, and I want to be able to get to it if and when it is needed, I should not have to be cleaning their snow in order for me to be able to get to my property on Pennell Avenue.

Now that Allen Avenue has been paved, new crosswalks will be painted so that people will be able to cross Allen Avenue safely. It is noted that indicator lines are on the tar for a crosswalk to be painted at Knight Street. Indicator lines are also on the pavement for a crosswalk to be painted at Casco Bay High School and at Plymouth Street crossing Allen Avenue to Northfield Green. But, there are no indicator lines for a crosswalk crossing Allen Avenue from Ruby Lane to Yale Street. There has always been a crosswalk at this intersection. In late spring, early summer your department indicated that the crosswalk would be painted when the new pavement was installed, but, I do not see the indicator lines for the crosswalk. Please, don't forget to install the crosswalk across Allen Avenue from Ruby Lane to Yale Street.

In the back cove parking lot across the street from the Hannaford Shopping center are 2 porter potty. The gray toilet has graffiti written all over the inside of it. This is unfit for any child to be able to see and read. Royal Flush should exchange this toilet so son children are not subject to the graffiti.
  • Install Sign Archived
70 Skylark Road Portland, Maine - Portland
Between 70 and 82 Skylark is the entrance to Pennell Avenue. This area is not tarred, but storm drains have been installed. It is requested that at the end of this road a sign be installed that should read "Stop, no dumping of Snow in this area", or words to that effect. I own land on Pennell Avenue, it is about 350 feet down from the entrance off of Skylark. I park my utility trailer there on my property. Every summer since I have bought this land, I cut the grass from my property to Skylark. For the last 2 winters, not every storm but when the snow has built up, I will snow blow the snow on this 350 feet. The problem I have is that the homes at 73 and 87 Skylar will plow their snow across Skylark onto the end of Pennell Avenue. Mainly 73 Skylark does this. So when I go to clean the snow so I can get to my utility trailer, I have to take care of all the snow that they have plowed onto Pennell Avenue. I would like a sign placed at the beginning of Pennell so they will not placed the snow from their driveways onto Pennell Avenue. They should be placing the snow onto their own land and not onto town land. I clean this street from Skylark to my property and I should not have to clean their snow either. The reason why I clean this section of Skylark is incase I need to use my utility trailer, I can get to it.

This traffic light has been on flash since at least Wednesday, 17 October 2018. I do not know why it was placed on flashing, but it is hard to make a left hand turn from Sanborn or the Northgate Shopping Center onto Auburn Street at certain times of the day because of the traffic that is traveling in both directions.

It is requested that all of the holes and depressions be filled. After it rains and when we are walking on this trail, there are depressions that will retain water and if you are walking or running then you end up going through either water, mud and or both. It is requested that more stone dust be placed in these depressions, so that it will not retain water and make it nicer for people to walk and or run this trail. There are many depressions along the entire 3 1/2 mile course, but that section from the parking areas on Baxter Blvd toward Hannaford over the bridge is the worse area of all. Please fill all of these depressions.

Yet all this week at 153 and 155 Allen Avenue, there have been 1 or 2 cars park on the street all the time. Now other vehicles are starting to park alone Allen Avenue. If, there is to be no parking, then these people should be told to park their cars elsewhere. But, if it does not matter about parking, then all of these signs should be taken down.

Between 1 and 93 Warren Avenue there are trees that need to be pruned upward so people can walk under them on the side walk. There are also bushes that need to be trim back so they do not cover the sidewalk. Sidewalks were put in so people could use them instead of walking in the road. If it is the responsibility of the adjacent home or business owner, then who about letting them know that they need to trim the trees and bushes.
