  • Stadium Boulevard west side, Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor

Federal Post Office says they pay someone to remove snow but they only did the parking lot. Same for the strip mall with Arbor Farms. 6" deep sidewalks.
Sidewalks north of Noodles (who promised to finish shoveling) to the next intersection (includes two vacant commercial buildings) and around the corner towards Westgate.

My thanks to Marathon gas station and the Yoga place across Stadium for clear sidewalks and for letting me borrow their shovels to clear a path to Stadium through the mountains of slush dumped there by city plows.

  • 1708 Charlton St Ann Arbor, MI, 48103, USA - Ann Arbor
1708 Charlton and 1716 Charlton (rental) have not shoveled snow this year. 1708 shovels their path to the door but not the public sidewalk. I talked to the owner of 1716 last year or year before because this is an ongoing problem. Also 400 Virginia (corner of Charlton) has not shoveled, and the rentals at 500-533 Virginia were plowed under after a snow removal service was there.

Huron/Jackson/Dexter Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor
The traffic light is set wrong. When I cross from north to south (Dexter then Jackson) pressing the button causes the JACKSON light to change first, and then eventually after that the DEXTER light instead of vice versa, then I need to press the button again so the JACKSON light will change a second time. Or run across Dexter when there is a break in the traffic and then cross Jackson in the remaining 5-10 seconds ., This is NOT SAFE. I reported it this summer and got no response. I suspect Huron/Jackson is a state road so who do I complain to about the danger and the wasted time crossing?
  • Argo Park Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor
There are no NO SMOKING signs anywhere I can see at Argo Park, which results in a lot of smokers poisoning the air there while sitting at tables, standing around, or just walking through. The workers won't do anything (they said I could call the police), and I went in circles trying to call the pertinent city department. Please ask someone to post NO SMOKING signs around the park including the shelter, rental area, toilets, nearest parking area, and trails. I don't care if the more distant parking area is open to smokers.
  • Huron St. At Fork Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor

Crossing south at Huron fork (by gas station) on Westside, push the button and the walk light goes on first on Jackson and then on Dexter. Should be the other way around. I usually wait for traffic to clear on Dexter, run across and then try to use the last 5-10 sec of the Jackson light to get across but often I am stuck midway and need to push the button and wait another minute, while the Dexter walk light goes on first. Has been this way for years and is likely to get someone killed.

Going south to north, same sequence of lights, as it should be.

A bridge or tunnel would be nice.

Also, motor vehicles frequently position themselves entirely blocking the crosswalk on Jackson and refuse to move back when asked politely. I need to run around them with my bike to get to the sidewalk, not safe. Perhaps some disguised police vehicle could trap them.

The new signs at crossings on Miller and on Seventh sometimes work during the daytime if I stand there waving and pointing at the signs.

  • Depot St. At Main Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor
Push button for walk light, wait at least 75 seconds, never changes. A passerby said it was broken. I tested it twice in each direction and ended up just running across when the light for Depot cars was red and nothing was turning right. Worked last week.
  • 1730 Charlton Ann Arbor, Michigan - Ann Arbor

I keep reporting every time they trash another street with the weekly advertiser, which Chuck Warpehoski tells me is now only allowed to be affixed to or placed between doors.
Last weekend they dumped bags of unsolicited newsprint on sidewalks, lawn extensions, and yards of:
    Montgomery
    Revena (south)
    Virginia
    Glendale Circle.
    Fair St. (west part)

    This week they trashed
    Arborview
    Revena (North)

    and probably many more streets.

Please fine them for each violation instead of just telling them not to do it again and waiting for more complaints. Someone on your staff said to complain to their distributor, which accomplishes nothing. They keep violating the city ordinance and getting away with it.

Chuck said I do not need to provide photos or a list of all the addresses.
He also seems to be rather annoyed that the city is not enforcing the law.

I reported our street a while ago and they are now sparing us.

I have never met anyone who wants the thing, and many people are really upset about having trash thrown on their property every week to dissolve in the rain, clog snowblowers, or tip off robbers if they are not there to discard the trash. I object to the major waste of paper (environmental destruction).

When I find them on sidewalks I kick them into the road for the city to deal with. Someone in the waste dept once calculated (in the 90s) that it cost the city $5000/year to get rid of them at current recycling rates.

I checked 'trash on lawn' because that seems to be where they are aiming it but much of it is on city property, and some on driveway aprons or driveways.
There is no trash on our lawn any more.

I can't find the email address to send mails to directly. It is a nuisance having to start up a graphical browser and then allow several kinds of javascript to contact you.
