    Dear Mayor: Rick Kriseman
Lately the water works has been doing important work on maintaining and improving the manhole covers all around St Pete. I am thankful that the maintenance of our infrastructure is a high priority. However I have discovered that the way the crews are going about this important work is not good for our community. In fact, they are leaving their personal trash (soda cups, food wrappers, bags, napkins, extra), littering the areas that they work in especially when a dumpster is merely 35 feet away from their work area. In addition they have deposited concrete rocks on my lawn preventing me from mowing because of endangerment to my equipment, myself, and neighbors, which would occur when traversing over them with the mower which would suck these stone up and fling them a great distance with much injurious velocity. For the crew there was no need to do this since the area they were working in is paved which is easily cleaned up and my lawn is 20 feet away from the project site. As a 30 year veteran of construction, I am appalled that a crew supposedly making improvements to the city would have such disregard for the community that they are hired to improve. They should be expected to leave the sites better than they were before they showed up, not trashed and vandalized as if a group of listless teenagers had been having a party. I expect the rocks to be removed from my yard and the trash to be picked up and the attitudes of the crews to be adjusted accordingly.
    Sincerely
