The bike rack outside of Forbidden Island was knocked over by something leaving just two holes in the sidewalk. Please replace the rack, it was the only one in the area and is needed.

First thing, thanks for the buffered bike lane on Grand. It's great, keep adding more.
But, since parking is still legal on that side of the road people are going to park in the bike lane blocking it and forcing bicyclists out into the buffer or the street. In addition to the odd car parking here, in the summer this section of road is used as overflow parking for vehicles with boat trailers from the boat ramp and will be filled on every nice weekend.
This side of the road along the buffered bike lane, between Clement and Eagle, needs to be marked No Parking.

Traveling northeast on Park St at the Park & Otis intersection. The signal for the left-hand turn lane does not trigger for a bicycle. I waited through three light cycles to verify that it was not working. Please fix this so it triggers for bicycles.

There are currently eight lamps out in the post lights throughout Marina Cove park. Please grab some bulbs and get those working again.
  • 2303 Clement Ave Alameda 94501, United States - Alameda
The sidewalk on Oak St between Clement and Blanding is overgrown with weeds making it difficult to navigate. Please have this area cleaned up.
  • 2217–2285 Clement Ave Alameda 94501, United States - Alameda
The sidewalk on the north side of Clement Ave between Elm St and Oak St is overgrown with weeds and difficult to use. It’s very hard to safely cross Clement in this area, particularly during commute hours, to avoid this section of sidewalk. Please have the plants from the adjacent Boat Works property that are blocking the sidewalk removed or cut back.

This is a very faded no parking sign. It’s almost illegible and I have seen several cars parked under the sign in the last couple of weeks. Please replace the sign.

Bags of garbage, some containing what lol like bottles of urine on side of road.
  • 2327 Blanding Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
People are parking in the new bike lane on Blanding between Park St and Oak St, just after the driveway into the shopping center. There is no signage or curb paint that indicates to drivers that they can't park here so they do. I have ridden by this point numerous times over the past few weeks and someone is always parked in the bike lane. Please provide signage and red curb paint to indicate the no parking area, or adjust the bike lane paint so that it allows parking here.

I reported this about a year ago and it was marked as fixed, but it was never fixed.
There are 3 pedestal lighting fixtures missing from the walkway where the sidewalk goes from the park to Fortman Marina by the children's play area. The bases are still there in the ground but the pedestals were removed after they were vandalized during the first few years after the park was built. Other pedestals were replaced but these never were.
It's really dark in this area at night and I have to go through regularly. There have been several times I have come across sketchy guys who have had too much to drink hanging out in the dark. It's also hard to just see people walking and riding bikes in this narrow area. I will post follow up comments with photos of the bases in the ground and how dark it is in this area at night. Please actually fix this and don't just say it was fixed and close it.

There is a bike rack behind all this greenery. Please trim it back to make the bike rack usable and maintain it. This is located on the path between the park and Fortman marina.
  • 1251 Pacific Marina Alameda, California - Alameda
This is a repost of Issue 4150197 (https://seeclickfix.com/issues/4150197) which was closed without being fixed. The section of the Bay Trail that passes by the Encinal Yacht Club is 50% obstructed by landscaping growing out into it, as shown in the attached photo. I reported this back in February 2018 and it was closed in August 2018 when PW Maintenance Jesse posted that Tree skirting was completed by ARPD. But no work was done and the problem is still there. As can be clearly seen in the photo I took the other day the yellow line demarking the centerline of the path is overgrown so less than half the path is available. This makes it unsafe for bicyclists and pedestrians to pass in this area and even difficult for pedestrians to pass when going opposite directions. People have to go off the paved path into the dirt area.
This really needs to be cleaned up and not just blown off as was done in August when it was closed without being fixed. It's only going to get worse, by next year the path will be unusable.

The section of the Bay Trail that passes in front of Encinal Yacht club is again becoming obstructed by limbs growing into it from the divider planting separating the trail from the yacht club. It's about half obstructed at this point and in the spring when the limbs leaf out it will be significantly obstructed. This was a problem back in 2016 too.

Please put out instructions to the maintenance crews not to park vehicles in the protected bike lanes as it creates an unnecessary hazard. I have seen this multiple times in front of Marina Cove Waterfront Park since the protected bike lane was installed. There are plenty of street parking spaces and there is a park parking lot that always has spaces available.

While I was walking down the Park St sidewalk last Monday at around 4pm I was passed by about 15 people riding on bikes on the sidewalk. There was one group of 8 riders all going down the sidewalk together single file. Riding on the sidewalks is increasing both on Park St and Webster and with no worry about police action on these violations people feel free to do this. Please start enforcing the law and keep people from riding on the sidewalk. it's dangerous both to the cyclist and pedestrians.
I posted this earlier under the Police Patrol Operations category but have heard that APD does not monitor seeclickfix.

There are 7 pedestal lights that are out in the park, 6 of them in the area that abuts Grand Marina. Please get these working again. The park is too dark at night and that attracts problems.

There is a section of sidewalk in the park between the play area, Fortman marina, and the estuary that is very dark at night. Back when the park was first put in and various lighting was being tested out there were lights in this area. But they were vandalized and never replaced. I often walk and bike through this area at night and have been surprised by people in this area who are hard to see. Please replace the lights, the wiring is there but new pedestal lights need to be mounted where the old ones were.

After the Marina Shores development was completed with the extension of Clement Ave people have been using the Wind River parking lot during the morning and evening commute to cut through between Atlantic and Clement. There is no stop sign or traffic signage where Clement ends at Entrance Rd to direct traffic away from the parking lot and onto Entrance Rd. Vehicles are going through the parking lot at speeds of 30 to 35mph. The homeless living in the parking lot put out 25mph signs to try to get people to slow down. My wife and I jog through the area everyday and it is now too dangerous to go through on foot or by bike during the morning and evening commute since the parking lot is not stripped as a street and people are driving too fast. The city created this problem with the extension of Clement and should provide a solution. My recommendation would be to restrict the entrance at the end of Clement to the parking lot to pedestrian and bike traffic.
  • 1905 Ohlone Street Alameda, California - Alameda
This section of Clement Ave is new. Is it legal to park on Clement where Ohlone T's in? On one side is the protected bike lane and on the other the old section of Clement that has no stopping signs from Ohlone to Hubbard. But there is a small section, two car lengths, that is unclear.
