Dexter Pinckney Rd & Island Lake Rd Dexter, MI, 48130, USA - DexterThe timing of the traffic signal at the intersection of Dexter-Pinckney and Island Lake roads have been way off for the last 3-4 weeks in the mornings. The timing must have been altered. Specifically between roughly 7:30-8:00am the signal for traffic on Island Lake Road (heading east) is about 14 seconds long every cycle. The signal for traffic on Dexter-Pinckney Road (heading south) is around 40 seconds every cycle. Traffic on Island Lake Road is backing up to the Island Hills Subdivision by about 7:45am. Meanwhile, there is little to no backup on Dexter-Pinckney Road. It is taking about 8 minutes for traffic on Island Lake to make it through the light while traffic on Dexter-Pinckney Road had little to no wait. This was not like this until the change about 3-4 weeks ago. Because the backup is so bad on Island Lake Road, many drivers are choosing to U-Turn in the middle of the road. There have already been many near misses with traffic that is heading west on Island Lake and the cars that are U-Turning to head back west because the wait is so long. An accident is likely in the near future.

The road ditches are extremely plugged up as far north at 6859 Earhart Rd and south to Wild Meadow Circle causing sitting water on the roads and in return potholes and erosion of the gravel road. Luckily, these ditches are not maintained or mowed by residents so people won’t complain about their yards being dug out.
