  • 38th Ave & Brookdale Ave Oakland, CA, 94619, USA - Jefferson
all street name signs are missing, when you pass thru the intersection you have no idea what street you're on
  • 14th Ave & E 24th St Oakland, CA, 94606, USA - Lynn-Highland Park
The street name sign for E 24th St reads "E 24th Ave" - this is obviously NOT an Avenue, it's a Street. Not sure how anyone in the sign shop made an egregious error like this one.
  • 2861 E 10th St Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - North Kennedy Tract

there's a No Turn on Red sign facing the traffic on E 10th St, but it's set very far back - so that if you're waiting at the light, you can't see it anymore.

there's a very dangerous thing people do - they make the right-on-red anyway, onto the 29th Ave overpass, rather than the immediate right to get to 880.

because the sign isn't visible, people do this every day - and you have to cross oncoming traffic (heading south on 29th Av) to make the right, but drivers are too oblivious to understand, and just make a right.

  • 2878 E 9th St Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - North Kennedy Tract
entering the new traffic circle underneath the 29th Ave underpass, the weeds on the driver's side are SO HIGH, you can't see oncoming traffic.
  • 80 Alameda Ave Oakland, CA 94601, USA - South Kennedy Tract
the "No Through Street" sign is gone - there is no sign telling traffic to turn right into Howard St. so any car going straight, which is what most cases default to, end up in a maze of streets that don't go anywhere, and have to backtrack
  • 42nd Ave & Bond St Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - Fremont
the trees on the western side of the street (on southbound lanes, heading towards 880) have overgrown & are blocking the traffic light - when the light is red, it's invisible to the approaching driver
  • 5234 Belvedere St Oakland, CA 94601, USA - Fairfax
the street lamp across the street from our home is out. since there are only lamps on the opposite side of the street, our side feels very unsafe at night
  • 6506 Macarthur Blvd Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Millsmont
these hours are posted over a non-existent sign. what exactly are we supposed to be doing (or not doing) during these posted hours? no one should get a ticket for not following directions when the directions are missing (though no one gets parking tickets in Oakland anyway, so I'm not sure why I'm bothering)
  • 4206 Foothill Blvd Oakland, CA 94601, USA - Fremont
the left turn arrow is now pointing to the left - so it can't be seen by the driver! twisted in the wind? vandalism? this is facing traffic heading downtown
  • 42nd Ave Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - South Kennedy Tract
the sign on 42nd Ave that shows the off-ramp to E 12th St (heading away from 880 towards E 14th), is missing. the off-ramp is unsigned, and mysterious to those who are looking for the exit.
  • 4200 Foothill Blvd Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - Jefferson
the left turn signal, when heading towards downtown, won't turn on between light cycles. you sit there in the left turn lane, and you have to go through at least 2 green lights before the arrow finally comes on. very frustrating
  • 5200 Belvedere St Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - Fairfax

How can we get speed bumps installed on our block? The 5200 block of Belvedere is wider than most streets in the neighborhood, and attracts speeders every day. Something about a wide street is inviting to those drivers who don't care about pedestrians & young children living in a residential area.

    * address given is meant to represent the entire block, it's not an exact location *

  • 1808 Fruitvale Ave Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - Saint Elizabeth
heading southbound on Fruitvale, the traffic light on the east (left) side of the street isn't visible due to overgrown tree / the limbs need to be cut back so the light can be seen
  • 4201 Bancroft Ave Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - Fremont
traffic lights are not working all along 42nd Ave betw Foothill & E 14th St (corners of Bond, Bancroft)
  • 2744 E 11th St Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - North Kennedy Tract
there are at least 2 cars/light trucks that park diagonally on the sidewalk every day outside of our building. there's a long stretch of sidewalk along the E 11th St side of the Artthaus (the big colorful shared work facility), and people just park haphazardly all the time, blocking the sidewalk, and forcing folks walking dogs or with limited mobility into the street to go around them. this happens EVERY day and no one is ever ticketed
  • Alameda Ave Oakland, CA, 94601, USA - South Kennedy Tract

Where Alameda St meets High St, there are TWO problems, that are different, when coming from either direction:

    1. when you're driving south on High St towards Home Depot, the turnoff onto Alameda is HIDDEN - no markings at all - so it's easy to get lost

    2. when driving north on Alameda, you're SUPPOSED to turn off at Howard St to meet High St, but SO MANY folks don't notice the "No Through St" sign and keep going; then at the last bit of road that connects you to High St, they go right though THE WRONG WAY, because all there is is a Left Arrow sign, there's no "Do Not Enter" which would make more sense.

I have met two cars in the last week alone who've drive up that last bit of Alameda the wrong way, forcing me to wait for them - while I was blocking traffic coming off of 880 - and of course they didn't know what was going on & why everyone was honking at them.

Better signed would go a Long Way.
    Thank you.

  • 646 Kennedy St Oakland, CA, 94606, USA - South Kennedy Tract
when you exit 880S @ 23rd Ave, you're not actually on 23rd, you're on Kennedy - but you gotta know to make a left on E 7th to get to 23rd. after traveling past this sign for over a year, it finally dawned on me that this sign does tell people which was to go, but it's RIGHT BEHIND a pole - and it's angled, so it's not possible to see it. all someone has to do it straighten the pole that it's on so it's visible again. thanks.
  • Seminary Ave Oakland, CA, 94605, USA - Millsmont
the street sign for Hillmont / Seminary is completely obstructed by overgrown trees, so you can't even see that it's there.
  • 4474 Macarthur Blvd Oakland, CA, 94619, USA - Upper Laurel
there is literally no street sign at the corner of MacArthur & Greenacre - if you're driving, you have no idea where you are. I was trying to get to the Post Office by getting to Masterson, but it's impossible to know where to turn without street signs.
  • 2400 Valdez St Oakland, CA 94612, USA - Waverly
4 corners, zero street signs. not a single corner had a sign indicating the name of the street (s). 24th/Valdez = way to get lost!
