    Sec. 18.402. – Maintenance of sidewalks, driveways and sod.

    Sir or Ma’am;
    I am the president of the Autumn Oaks Homeowners Association encompassing Trail View Dr. and the adjacent side streets within our community in Ellicott City.
    I am writing to you to request work to replace or repair sidewalks that have become unstable and uneven and pose a possible safety issue to residents.
    As you can see in the attached photographs (1-3), the sidewalk has subsided in and around the drain culvert at the end of Trail View Dr. I am uncertain if this was the result of the flooding that affected the Main Street area in May 2018 or just the result of regular runoff.
    I would request that a Howard County Public Works inspector review the site and provide an estimate to the HOA Board on scheduling and scope of work.
    On a second issue, the Board seeks an estimate to re-seat, grind-down or replace a sidewalk section on Trail View Dr., near 8630 Trail View Dr., near an electrical box, photograph (4). I have reviewed the Howard County code addressing sidewalk responsibilities when possibly caused by property owner trees. We would look to have the sidewalk repaired at the same time the area around the drain culvert is completed.
