    Does city not require permits for building decks or just Not for this property. The brand new 3rd fl back deck sits atop 2 lower ones overdue for replacement since 50s. All would be replaced if permit required and the lead paint laws, National Fire and Electric Code requiring both 3rd fl egress to be safe for 3rd fl tenants was required for past owners who lost that rental status in 2006 but laws dont apply to Tim Gray

    My sidewalk repair request in 2016 is still unresolved. This is a dangerous, a trip hazard and more difficult now due to my age. The photos don't capture the lumpy surface or severity or one-foot drop to street level, a where ground sunk down (from trees removed 1945). Only the water valve covers were lowered while the DPW did sidewalk next-door to me (not needed) suggesting mine is not fixable, saying: "it requires curbing and Salem doesn't replace granite curbing anymore, so not possible to level it or correct it." Hopefully he's wrong and it will be fixed bf winter -only a 6-7year wait. The surface is beating up my snow-thrower, painful using push-shovel, and the slippery sloped area is difficult to clear snow from, causes my snow-thrower to tip over, and requires frequent salting on rainy/icy days. Please don't ignore this request by calling it duplicated.

    Is this property on the lead paint register? This property is having 3rd fl demolition ongoing with no laws applied? When I sold this rental property I signed WAIVER only for properties requiring major upgrades incl. nat. fire code -so 3rd fl tenants exit safely in fire. Yet aft flip't at huge profit same laws dont apply to newest owner. Also, please read: Under Massachusetts regulations, a LSR supervisor is required to be on site at all times while renovation work is in progress.

    Storm winds started and there's over-filled rubbish bins next door to me.I don't want broken windows during any storm. The trash from this house always ends up on my property especially in storms. Owner not available and the tenants who over-filled bins have moved out. I'm very concerned about stuff hitting my windows.

    Another tree fell and I'm asking is there a city official who will enforce the fence height regulation for a natural fence of dangerously tall (fast growing) invasive Maple trees along side of my driveway and within a boundary area. I am asking that the city help to make them safe by requiring this owner to abide by the height limit and trim his natural fence to regulation boundary fence height of 8 ft tall. 3 trees so far have snapped at the trunk level on windy days (like now) and 2 landed atop my garage and house this time. My efforts to contact him by letters were answered by a police officer warning me of harassment law - both police report show him claiming ownership and protecting them 100% at only my expense.

    There are two cracks same size 4inches wide and growing. One near # 31 and also at #37 Oakland just beside driveway. These cracks are across the sidewalk and been quickly widening. It was thought they were on the fix list for this past summer. Its now dangerous and will be worse with just a little more time - Especially when icy.

    How could my email seeking a fence viewer cause a Spite Fence or private nuisance to become worse? Is it my neighbor whos retaliated against me? His strip of Maple trees along the boundary line and my driveway is illegal AND over the legal height limit and so is causing harm to me and my property. I have gotten no response from the bldg inspector or a fence viewer. How long should i be waiting?

    Why is it warranted for a continuous green on a pedestrian light vs. blinking amber or even blinking green to caution traffic instead. It causing near miss for pedestrians in crosswalks on School (at night mostly) cars going 30-40mph around this turn. They dont see people in School St crosswalk or cars in/out of corner parking lot on School St until right up on them. Drivers go 30 - 40 mph and blow thru Stop Sign at Grove St intersection (no warning sign) due to green light - I am seeing many pedestrian lights always on green but this area needs to caution drivers instead. Green always on seems unnecessary for traffic to flow?

    Continuous GREEN Pedestrian Light puts pedestrians at RISK when crossing over School St. Drivers having a right-of-way at 30-35mph enter School almost hit people in crosswalk. Night-time is more trecherous. Also at risk is motorist in/out of store parking lot. Please fix with blinking yellow or No light.
