Strong methane-like odor has been emanating from Booker Creek between MLK and 4th Street South for the past several days. The water was black earler this week. The fumes are noxious at times and making people light headed. Someone needs to come out and test. I have lived here for 20 years and have never noticed anything like this. Someone may have dumped something upstream. Or from the bridge construction site??? PLEASE HELP

Large vehicles (including city sanitation trucks) are turning against One Way turn at corner of 8th St. South and Jasmine Terrace. Trucks are colliding with high voltage line poles, street sign posts, water main, curbs and sidewalk, private property lawns and fences. This is am ongoing issue that needs to be solved with placements of concrete bollards, or possibly closure of Jasmine Terrace to all vehicle traffic between MLK and 8th Steet South along Greenwood Cemetery. I have had to repair and replace my back fence numerous times at rising costs now in excess of $10,000! Traffic engineers MUST addresses this situation. Duke has already replaced (and relocated) their utility pole which was listing and in danger of collapse, and now the new pole is already damaged. This issue has been reported numerous times. The water main is now also exposed above ground.

Dangerous awning and illegal scaffolding is overhanging / obstructing public sidewalk along 9th Street South at intersection of 10th Ave South. The awning itself appears to be in danger of collapse. A few weeks ago, workers (who appeared to be unlicensed and working without a permit) blocked the sidewalk with caution tape, and placed 4x4 timbers under the awning to prop it up. The timbers are not secure, and pose an on-going hazard to pedestrians. The awning itself appears unsafe and must be inspected immediately. The 4x4 beams could easily become dislodged just by bumping into them. Someone could really get hurt here. I see this issue has already been reported by more than one of our neighbors, yet nothing has been done to address these serious safety concerns. I did just report this a minute ago using your app to pull the property address (922 is what come up). I don't understand why the report was closed. You indicated you have no record of the address and can't find it. REALLY??? The location is pinned on an actual map, and, I'm also explaining EXACTLY where it is located in my complaint. I'm taking time out of my day here to act in the interest of public safety. The least you can do is take off your bureaucratic blinders and pretend to be concerned enough to connect a few small dots. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to locate this address.

Large tree above public sidewalk and street on 10th Ave South (between the addresses of 691 and 693) is diseased and is in danger of falling, possibly causing injury or damage to property. Certified arborists have observed that the tree is dangerous and needs to be removed, as it is in imminent danger of falling. The tree is located at the curb on the right of way between the street and the sidewalk.

Yellow Hazard Sign / Right Turn Only sign was hit by a truck and severely damaged at the intersection of Jasmine Terrace South and 8th Street South. This is an important sign keeping large vehicles off of 8th Street South ( as evidenced by this damage).

Several months ago, Jasmine Terrace South became a One-Way street. The reason for this, is that City vehicles including Sanitation trucks and Fire Trucks were hitting my fence and causing damage. Since the change to One-Way, I've noticed that the Sanitation trucks have not altered their route and are driving the wrong way down Jasmine. Are Sanitation vehicles exempt from obeying traffic rules???

Last week, we cleaned out our garage, and so our trash can was a bit heavier than normal. The sanitation handler on the back of the truck barked at me about my can being too heavy. He was rude, but I said I was sorry. This week, the driver waived the handler away from my can and deliberately drove by it. (I have the incident on video and you're welcome to review it). When I ran out to question why, the handler said it was because my can was not on the street. I was angered by this, and said I would call the supervisor. The driver radioed in ahead of my call and reported that they skipped me because my can was too heavy. Nobody even touched the can, so how do they know it was too heavy? Which is it? Was it that the can was not on the street, or, was it too heavy. I guess he estimated the weight by looking at it from the driver's seat. This was clearly done in spite for some reason. The can they skipped me to collect next door was completely overflowing with brush. Your crews lately are EXTREMELY unprofessional obnoxious, rude and spiteful. This is not acceptable.

Duke Energy recently replaced a street light at SE corner of Jasmine Terrace South and 8th Street South (at 1020 8th St South). The replacement white light is much more intense than the old orange light. This light shines directly into our bedroom windows, and into our back yard. It is interfering with our sleep and our expensive landscape lighting. Duke is refusing to do anything about it and says the City of Saint Petersburg is the responsible party when it comes to fixing this issue. This light needs to be moved to another part of the alley!!! We spent hundreds of dollars in plants to try and block the old light to improve our sleep and enjoyment of our yard at night. This new light is like stadium lighting. IT MUST BE MOVED!

I'm curious how your enforcement officers seem to suddenly have so much additional time to focus on Roser Park like a laser. While it's great that we are finally getting much needed attention given our long history of ongoing issues with slum lords abusing our sanitation system (furniture sitting on the curb for months on end etc...), your department seems to have taken it upon itself to hand out citations up and down our street for comparatively minor infractions - IE in some cases decorative ornamental plants "obstructing" the sidewalks. Given the recent number and frequency of these citations, relative to both the history of code enforcement in Roser Park, and, comparative to other neighborhoods, this sudden enforcement seems oddly and troublingly heavy-handed and selective. I understand that one of your officers recently resides within Roser Park, raising further questions about the selective nature of these citations. If there is a connection, the implications are troubling. I request to speak with a supervisor in person at my address, as additionally, the citation I received is unclear and confusing, and needs further clarification. In the future, I also suggest that your officers take the time to knock on my door to speak with me in person, rather than sticking a sign in my yard and driving away. I'm not sure what your protocol is here, but the officer involved clearly did not take this opportunity upon herself, which would have been both helpful and courteous.

Am I really being cited for weeds "obstructing" the sidewalk. Really? Because if so you need to be looking at lots of other properties in the neighborhood, such as this address. Meanwhile, where are the codes enforcement officers when junk and furniture sits on the sidewalk for months on end??? I'll be sure and have a look around to make sure you haven't possibly missed any other weeds.

"No Parking Here to Corner" Signs must be added to both sides of 8th Street South at the intersection of Jasmine Terrace South to prevent cars from parking on this already too-narrow corner. When vehicles park on either of these corners, it causes trucks heading in either direction to back into my fence, causing damage. In addition to other measures the city may be considering to address the ongoing safety issues associated with this dangerous intersection, parking should not be permitted on these corners. Please post "No Parking" signs at this intersection to ensure that traffic has adequate clearance to safely negotiate this very tight turn. The most recent damage caused to my property was caused, in part, because of cars parked on this corner.
