At about 8:45 tonight my wife and I, as well as a friend I was on Facetime with heard 5 very close shots from a large caliber gun. As a hunter living in a neighborhood with lots of fireworks, I can probably do a good job of differentiating between 5 almost equally spaced gunshots and a randomly timed very short string of firecrackers. I called the police and two squad cars showed up within a few minutes. I described what we heard and they said they would search and check with neighbors. After about 45 minutes I called the dispatcher back and was told the the officers hadn’t found any discharged rounds or bullet damage (which could very well be the case) and that none of the neighbors heard anything. My concern is whether the officers actually attempted to locate the source because myself and two others recognized it as very loud and close gunfire. The statement that “none of the neighbors heard anything” is not credible. I could see the neighbors across the street were checking their fenced backyard perimeter. Not wishing to wander around the neighborhood tonight under these circumstances, I will check tomorrow and find out for sure how many neighbors were, in fact interviewed by the police. From my vantage point , the responding officer drove down the street and that was the last I saw of him so I am 99% sure he didn’t speak with my two neighbors directly across from me or if he did he was parked less than 1 minute when I had my back turned.

Bulbs in "Period" street lighting on 65th between 5th Ave and Pasadena have been replaced with bright white LED bulbs which destroys the intended atmosphere and contrasts sharply with the orange tinged bulbs installed from Pasadena to Central. I'd be happy to work with the city and Duke Power to find a more period appropriate hued bulb with a similar efficiency rating.

Long term broken sprinkler head flooding alley behind defunct tennis court/ overflow parking at 6501. I have marked it and pointed it out numerous times to owners. I believe it is broken due to the heavy vehicular traffic living in the guest house to the right in the photo.

The fence between Pasadena Ave and 66th St has been removed. This was provided by the neighborhood as an in-kind service for a neighborhood grant to the Lake Pasadena Neighborhood. If it needed repair, we would liked to have had an opportunity to do that before it was removed. It was placed as a much needed neighborhood improvement and we would prefer that it remain in place for safety, noise and esthetic purposes. Please advise.
