Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner.   I have commented on these and other potholes in the vicinity numerous times and they remain unprepared. I am in full agreement that it could cause serious injury or worse and respectfully request that the city of Oakland repair this dangerous situation

  District4@oaklandca.gov is the email for council person Sheng Thao. Let’s start a letter writing campaign. Her website says she likes to bike through Joaquin Miller. Hopefully if enough bicyclists write her she will help! Thanks

  LOL the city did NOT address this issue. The road hazards from the potholes and general degradation of the surface persist. It is dangerous even for motorcycles let alone bicyclists. This issue has been reported on for several years now, when is the road going to be repaved? A LOT of cars use this to get to/from Roberts and the top of JMP, as well as access to other entrances of Redwood part and Chabot Space Center. This is also a fire egress path for folks who live up in this area.
