Public Works stores sand there. The pile that’s there now was highlighted at a public meeting that it could be used to protect the collapsing sand dunes in Ocean Park nearby. PLEASE leave this OPEN so others can comment. It’s been closed twice before.

While we understand the frustration and dissatisfaction with the replenishment project being delayed, your concern was forwarded to Dan Adams with coastal engineering who advised, that the sand stockpile at Lynnhaven Inlet is reserved for emergency conditions and moving it to Ocean Park Beach will not achieve the goals of the replenishment project. If you need anything further, you can also speak with Dan Adams directly at 757-385-4783. This request will be closed.
