Refrigeration vehicles are exempt from the idiling law, as a general rule.
This site is monitored regularly by many departments during normal business hours and issues perceived to be urgent or emergencies should be called in directly to police or fire. Neither of those departments monitor this site for emergencies or time sensitive issues.
If you still need to speak with Bill Ward, call the main number 863.0442 DPI/Code and you will be put through to his direct line.
While I cannot speak to the specifics of what the authors may have had in mind when this ordinance was written, my thought is they were attempting to balance the needs of the businesses who operate the refrigerator trucks to keep refrigerated foods cold, as well as the needs of the businesses who need cold foods kept cold, with the needs of the community as a whole. If you believe the ordinance should be revisted, I would suggest speaking with your City Councilor(s.)
