Ok are you serious?!?!?! You are complaining about people parking in their driveways?!?!? Would you like us all to park in the street??? Then there really will be no parking in the neighborhood. You do realize that all of us that have driveways pay taxes to have a driveway on our property so therefore have the right to park there. It is not our fault that these houses were built in the 50s when people didn’t have all these large suvs and other large vehicles but even back then the sidewalks were blocked with people’s cars. No one has ever had an issue until you started complaining and getting people ticketed for parking in their own properties. Would you like to pay those tickets? They are $54 each FOR PARKING ON OUR OWN PROPERTY!!!!!!

I think the original complaint was not properly worded. It seems like the problem are cars parked on driveways and occupying the sidewalk at the same time which is illegal. If the affected citizens think they have legitimate complaints they should go to traffic courts. Parking on the sidewalk is illegal and it does not matter when the houses were built or if one pays taxes or you have a tiny car or a SUV. Blocking sidewalks put pedestrians, especially children and handicap people, at risk by making them walk on the street. I do hope everyone should be more understanding and civil.

I am handicapped and I have not complained once. What I want to know is why is this only a concern now when people have parked this way for years. I will post a pic in a minute to explain what my point is.

This is the size of the driveways. Even if you parked against the house you would still be blocking the sidewalk. Either extend the sidewalk so there is a proper amount of parking or extend all our properties back to the empty field behind us so we can park behind the houses.

Ok and as I said some people don’t park all the way in the driveway but even if they did they would still be on the sidewalk. Then the city needs to extend the sidewalk to accommodate both the homeowners and the pedestrians who just recently decided that they can only walk on this particular side of the street that has been like this for years and years. My husband grew up on this block and in his 41 years of life no one has made an issue out of this.

I have been living here for 46 years.People have been parking like this with no problems.Why is this person trying to start trouble for his or her neighbors now? Really it’s nicer to live in peace.This was how this place was allowed to be built.So live with or move.

Debra that’s what I’m saying. I don’t understand why people come and try to start problems. I yelled at parking enforcement because she ticketed 4 people (before I stopped her) who were parked in their driveways. I told them all to take pictures and call the court.

First of all the said houses were originally constructed to have garages. Unfortunately some have converted (legally or illegally) their garages into living quarters. Sad but some do not use their garage but park on their driveway but illegally extend to the sidewalk. Just because it was tolerated before does not make it legal and right to block a sidewalk. This is the harsh reality of life. Things change and unless the city makes it legal to park on the sidewalk anyone (whether the majority likes it or not) can make a legitimate complaint. Why take it out on the parking enforcer who is just trying to do his/her job? As I said, if anyone feels being subjected to an illegal summons, please go to court.

Ok first of all NOT all of the house had garages and again because of when the houses were constructed, the cars today do not fit in said garages. Secondly, people are complaining that there isn’t enough parking in country village and then those same people are complaining about the driveways. So again I will ask....would you like us to all park on the street? If we do, where will everyone else park? I have presented two ways to appease everyone in this situation. If the city agrees with either one then they can do something about it.
