Description

Last Wednesday 6/19/2013 we received a phone call from the head of security for the Woburn Superior Courthouse Wayne McDaniel. There had been a complaint made by a juror about smoke entering the building through the main door. Outside of the main door is where people would take smoking breaks. Myself (Meghan) and Health Agent Fralick when through the Mass General Laws and did find a subsection that explained when an outside area is considered an extension of the building and therefore would be non-smoking. Agent Fralick took a ride out to the Superior Court and noted that there was an awning above the door and it was assessed that this did cause this outdoor area to be an extension of the building and non-smoking. Agent Fralick got in touch with Mr. McDaniel and explained the part of the law and what subsection it was and Mr. McDaniel will be putting up a non-smoking sign in that area to prevent further complaints.
