It is much safer for pedestrians to not allow turns on red - I applaud this change.

This change is unnecessary and causes significantly more traffic. There should be right turns permitted on red, as there is throughout most of the state. The traffic lights are already not timed appropriately (i e. one traffic light turns green while and the next traffic light 2 streets ahead turns red). The traffic back-up worsens if drivers cannot turn make right turns at red lights. The yielding to pedestrians while turning is similar to when stopped at a Stop sign.

An ordinance was passed within the last few months by the counsel to issue No Turn On Red signs at these two intersections.
