everyone keep doing your part to apply as much pressure as humanly possible on apd and the city government to get these homeless encampments off our island (and while you're at it, get them to do something about the growing crime problem in general!)

HLOs are aware of this area and working with PW to clear this area after proper posting.

Wouldn't it make more sense to close the issue after it's actually resolved, rather than closing it prematurely after passing it off to HLO, who (let's be real) probably aren't ever actually going to resolve the issue?

re-opening this issue as we have no evidence that it has actually been fixed ("closed" status means something has actually been fixed, not simply passed off to another department)

It’s still there! what’s the status? this encampment has been here since last year and reported on multiple times. and each time the issue was closed, no actual action was undertaken.

Neither the city nor APD care at all and will not act on this. They will continue to allow this issue to grow worse and more out of control.

they don't care about us. lt. durani doesn't care. hlo is basically nonexistent and does nothing. they're a drain on taxpayers and do not care about us at all

APD HLOs and Building Futures staff have made contact with this homeless citizen for the initial evaluation and assessment for resources. Please keep in mind that homelessness is not a crime and APD works collaboratively with various city and county services to ensure that the homeless citizen is treated with respect and dignity while the assessment for transition to shelter, resources etc takes place. Moreover, homelessness is a regional issue and resources are stretched thin due to the large number of homeless population.

ah the old copied and pasted canned "homelessness is not a crime" response. classic! the thing is nobody here is actually trying to imply that homelessness is a crime, we're simply tired of all the actual crimes these homeless commit every day as a result of you guys doing nothing to get them off our island

Thank you for your notification. The Homeless Liaison Officers (HLO) are aware of this area, and they have coordinated with various City resources to offer services to the involved persons. The HLOs will continue to monitor and work towards an alternative plan.

reopening this issue because "assigned to hlos" does not mean "closed" stop abusing the "Close" button to sweep issues under the rug. we know you guys dont want to do your jobs but thats no excuse for closing issues without fixing them
