The City has a planned project to install a signal at the intersection of Powell Street and Doyle Street. The project is already designed and has been advertised for bids. The contract approval for the lowest responsive bidder is going to City Council on 3/19/2018. From there, we expect to break ground on the project in late Summer 2019. There is currently a long lead-time on deliveries of steel traffic poles, which will hold-up the start date for the project. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee has discussed and forwarded the current issues at this intersection, and the City plans to look into some intermediate treatments until the signal is up and running.
