Could the plow truck please stop spewing huge amounts of salt onto the top area of Cliff Road? I called today and asked but the message obviously did not get across. It's 2:30 AM, and I just saw the same plow truck pouring tons of salt down from the center of the back of his truck. The salt does not evenly spray--it just lands in the very middle of the street so does not help with tire traction anyway. I am 65 year old woman and today I shoveled up a bag with 20 pounds of rock salt from out in front of my house that had accumulated from last week's snow storm. The plows have never salted like this in the 6 years I have lived here. This is a new problem!!! It is polluting and damaging our private road. Dumping road salt on roads with poor drainage like we have at the top of Cliff Road will kill wildlife, birds, trees and plants up here on Brier Neck, a lovely nature area. btw It also harms dogs paws. (A neighbor walking by while I was scooping up this salt told me this is a problem for her dog.) So please STOP with the salt up here, or limit it to the slope area. Nobody hardly drives or lives up here anyway. I don't even own a car!!! I just walk everywhere (Dial a ride) is not even allowed to drive up my road. Anyway, the previous plowers assigned to Cliff Road NEVER salted up here. It is not helping. It is polluting and harming.
