Description

Our neighbor's dog barks continuously – beginning when we open our window blinds until all our lights are turned off. They obtained this bully breed pit bull dog around March 2017. A dangerous animal issue was reported on 5/17/2017. They chained their dog to our fence throughout the summer and judging from their verbal language, appeared to be training their dog to be aggressive. On several occasions, their dog cornered us while we were in our garage. Ryan White claimed that his dog is not exactly pit bull – but is one of the aggressive breeds. They claimed they would keep their dog inside, take obedience training, and that their dog was not being trained to be aggressive. They kept their dog inside until around May.
Since May 2018, they have left their dog in their yard everyday even when they are not home. Their dog barks at us when we are in our family room or master bedroom. We cannot use our balcony or deck and our animals cannot go into our yard. We have taken numerous steps to remedy this situation including asking them to restrain their dog from barking continuously. We planted a bamboo fence and plants to limit their dog’s visibility into our home, we installed a “no bark” sensor on our side of the fence and asked them to install such device on their dog and we offered to make a schedule so that we could enjoy our home, decks and patio, a few days of the week – all of which they refused to do. None of our efforts have stopped the continuous barking. The dog owner, Ryan White, states that “dogs bark so you must live with it”.
City ordinances and our community bylaws provide each homeowner the right to quiet enjoyment of their home. This been taken away from us, plus we cannot use all the rooms in our home. We work at home and have serious health issues, so rest is vital to our health.
We request that Animal Control assist the renter Ryan White at 3638 Robinson Road in understanding the city ordinances and community’s bylaws.
