This has been reported to city many times and should be on police (non emergency)many more , as well as facebook mayor's page.
The city did a good job to clear homeless people that used to hang around , sleeping , etc on next corner lake. But the issue remains because dollar store careless.---Explain , The store have a huge concrete open storage of cardboard/trash on yard close to fence on Hartford Street North side.There is a space of about 10 feet between container and PLASTIC WHITE FENCE , WITH A BIG DOOR ENTRANCE ON HARTFORD STREET SIDE...sections of this fence are being broken often , as they are now--Homeless using the side door to hide , eat, sleep there often, as well as defecate and everything else---because they hide from the view from US19 because the container and from Hartford due to the fence---We saw a rat coming off that hole---you can check and see the garbage piled on back of store , sure customers are not responsible for that---The other part of problem is a short chubby palm tree on Hartford side , next to door , this tree is use by homeless as a hide out from view and sleep or hang there , and when they see something no good for them , they walk few steps and go behind fence...- We live right across street on 3436 Hartford , and got to the point that my wife is afraid going out if somebody is there looking at our home --YOU WILL SOLVE a big part of this problem by removing this useless tree, which is by the curb.---We are older people , and even if I still have to work , I have concerns of my wife's safety being alone ---- you can check how many times this was reported to police , but when they arrive , seems like they know and go , but many times also the police made them leave.MY suggestion to you is , IF THERE IS ANYWHERE OR ANY WAY TO MAKE OR SUGGEST THE DOLLAR STORE TO -- CHANGE THE FENCE ON HARTFORD FROM ACTUAL PLASTIC TO CHAIN(REGULAR WIRE) LINK , THEY WILL BE NO MORE HIDE-OUT WHEN AND IF YOU REMOVE THE TREE ,I believe will be ok...PLEASE???
