Description

Yesterday on February 9, 2019 one neighbor’s dog attacked another neighbor’s dog. The dog that was attacked had injuries and needed to go to the vet to receive treatment and staples in his neck. We were able to get control of the attacking animal and return it to its home but nobody was there. The owner of the dog that was attacked and I made sure that the attacking dog had food, water, and shelter until the owner returned. The attacking dog is a female pit bull and she has an obvious rash and infection under her collar. A second smaller dog was also loose on the property. The resident of the home did not return home until over six hours after the incident. I spoke with the resident at the home of the attacking dog and was informed that this dog was not hers. The resident and her adult daughter were belligerent and would not listen to my concerns about the dog’s health. They would not provide information about the owner of the dog. This picture which I took at 8:30 on February 10, 2019 is of a second similar dog (male) that is tethered in the backyard without supervision. It appears that the dog in the picture was left outside all night. The tether appears short maybe 3 to 4 feet and there is no owner or person in the vicinity or watching the animal.
