In addition most of the trash is styrofoam and plastic and it is dangerous to the birds and turtles not to mention our water since it washes down the gutters. I am all for taking care of the homeless but it needs to be handled better.

This happens on the southside as well, The salvation army feeds them in those wonderful non biodegradable Styrofoam boxes. The are perpetually blowing around the neighborhood until they make it down a storm drain out into the bay.

Who are the groups that are providing the food? Perhaps we should be able to talk to them about the aftermath of their kindness?

We have forwarded the details you have provided to the Stormwater Department so that they may schedule a clean-up of any trash/debris around the lake. This report has also been forwarded to the Coordinator of Homeless/Social Service issues so that they may address the situation with any group that may be providing food to individuals in this park.
