Description
New street lights went in between the traffic circle at Whiskey Bottom and All Saints, and Old Lantern Road Tuesday. Way too bright, shines in windows. Previous lights had blinders on to direct the light and block lighting up the houses. Please put the blinders back on. Also why were these installed in just that small section and not the entire length of Whiskey Bottom?

LED streetlights are, in fact, present along the majority of Whiskey Bottom Road between US 1 (Washington Boulevard) and All Saints Road. Admittedly, there are two different types being used (i.e. American Electric, RX Series).
Because LED street lighting is more energy efficient than traditional luminaires, energy consumption (monthly basis) is reduced and the savings are passed onto the County. Over the next 5 years, there is a Countywide Program to replace all streetlights with LED fixtures to further abate operating costs.
About a month ago (Whiskey Bottom Road - 9500 Block), shields were installed by BGE to direct light downward toward the road surface to help reduce glare. If this did not resolve your specific issue (street lighting is still too bright directly adjacent your home), please contact me at (410) 313-5751. Perhaps, we could meet on-site and review the matter in further detail.

As requested, street side shields have been successfully installed on the pendant lighting fixtures along Whiskey Bottom Road between All Saints Road and House #9572.
If additional information is required, please contact Traffic Engineering at 410-313-2430.
