Storm drain curb yellow paint has completely worn off. Please paint the storm frain curb bright yellow or a reflective color. Otherwise the curb is difficult for rastbound driver to see after dark.
Location is intersection of Gulport Blvd and Sea Gull Ln S.
I eas unabke to describe the issue using the seeclicjfix software so I left a-comment, instead. I have reported the issue of it being nearly impossible to see this intersection when driving east after dark, but nothing was done.
I urge you to have someone drive east on Gulfport Blvd at night and see if they do not agree. In my opinion another street light should be installed on either existing telephone pole on the north side of the intersection. The street light on Gulport Blvd to the south of the intersection does NOT illuminate this intersection, and I have driven past it many times.
I am asking you to PLEASE make a thorough inspection at night to verify what I keep saying. Painting the storm drain curb is just a band aid for the bigger problem but would help at least a little.
Thank you for taking the time to “Report an Issue” via Doing Things for you ! The issue has been received by Pinellas County Public Works Traffic Engineering Division, so we can investigate and take any necessary action.
You will be notified of updates! Please take a moment to tell us how we are doing. Your input is greatly appreciated, thank you! link: www.pinellascounty.org/surveys/PublicWorks
The County does not usually paint our storm inlets, especially when they are part of the sidewalk as this one is. Any paint on that inlet was probably put on by someone other than County forces.
I looked into this location and see that we've had quite a few things done here. Foliage trimmed back from both the northeast and northwest corners of the intersection. The stop sign assembly and stop bar were relocated closer to the intersection to be more visible, along with new street name signs made and installed on top of the relocated stop sign assembly.
I spoke with the Sign Shop Supervisor about what else we could do there, as another street light is not an option. This week they should be installing some post top reflectors on Gulfport Blvd S, both east and west of the intersection to aid you in identifying Sea Gull Ln.
Whose resonsinilityi Iis it to paint the drain curb?
IDid you actually frive west on Gulfport Blvd at night and see for yourself? I seriously doubt it. Easier for rhe county ro eash their hands of rhe issue.
Closing an issue is not the sane as addressing an issue. Disappointing.
